The ZTX metaverse team has officially announced the start of playtest #2, introducing a host of new features for players to enjoy.
In comparison to the first one, this second playtest introduces harvesting and crafting gameplay. Previously, players only had access to the decorator mode, where you could customize your home with pre-built items. That aspect is also present here, but there’s now a lot more on-chain things you can for a lot more fun.
This means that instead just using already crafted items straight off the bat, you’ll now be given a land and a home that does not come with any assets, making you dabble in the new gameplay aspects which are taught to you through a new player tutorial.
With the new harvesting gameplay, players are now able to gather various plants as well as plant them while extracting minerals. Using all these resources, you’ll be able to engage in crafting gameplay, which consists of using a list of recipes to craft various different assets you’d like to use to decorate your property with. If you have stuff to spare, then say hello to the new trading feature, through which you can sell your possessions in exchange for gold. Next to using gold for purchasing the same items you collect, it is also needed for using the crafting feature. Based on the announcement, it seems that during this playtest, the trading will take place between the player and the game, while actual trading between players is set to take place at some point in the future.
This playtest is open to the public, so you can jump into this 3D metaverse for the duration of the playtest by downloading it from the official website on Mac or Windows PCs. This testing period started on October 7th and will end on October 14th.
