AI gaming ecosystem Memoria has announced the start of Open Beta Season 1 of Memoria: Chronicles Idle, opening up the web3 game to the public as a free to play title to give everyone an opportunity to play to airdrop the upcoming $ARTERY token.

What Is Memoria?

Memoria is an AI-driven gaming ecosystem designed to merge AI agents with blockchain gaming, memes, and wager-based mechanics. Backed by the Avalanche Foundation, the project launched its own L1 mainnet earlier this year on Avalanche’s high-performance blockchain platform, with the goal of making it ready in time to use for a second closed beta season. At the end of June however, Memoria underwent a major transformation by merging with Studio Artery and several other blockchain gaming projects, with the game’s second season starting afterwards. This unification has created a broader, creator-focused platform that now operates on its own dedicated network: the Artery Chain.

At its core, Memoria leverages AI agents and decentralized infrastructure to power varied web3 gaming experiences. The platform currently revolves around NFT-based nodes and playable in-game characters represented through the AL NFT collection, alongside its native utility token $ALBERT, which will be converted to $ARTERY, the core ecosystem token of the Artery Chain that is designed to be used for gas fees, gameplay, staking, governance, lotteries, NFT creation, AI tools, and dynamic game content. On the gaming side, Memoria has already introduced two browser-based titles, that include Chronicles Idle (used to be Idle Chronicles, they switched the words around for some reasons) and Blitz Idle, the latter in which players were recently able to play to airdrop in during Trial Run 1. Beyond these, the project’s roadmap hints at further expansion, with a meme launchpad and two additional games mentioned in its earlier whitepaper, though the recent merge may shape how these upcoming products are ultimately delivered.

After undergoing a closed beta airdrop period for Memoria: Chronicles Idle earlier this year, and another from July to early August, the game is now open and free for anyone to try out. Here’s what else is included for this open beta launch.

What’s New in Memoria: Chronicles Idle Open Beta Season 1?

This open beta release not only opens the game to the public and makes it free to play, but it also comes with some new additions and changes to improve the overall gameplay experience.

Perhaps most notable is that AL NFTs have been fully integrated on Artery L1 while also integrating new Passive Skills in the game itself. Each AL has a new Passive Skill that will now automatically activate in an idle battle. The Passive Skill your NFT has depends on its unique body traits, with different body types bringing different bonuses. There seem to be a total of 16 different body types in the NFT collection, each with their own unique Passive Skill that may include having a portion of HP healed each minute or receiving a defense buff when fighting bosses. Soon, an alpha version of the Artery Marketplace is set to go live to allow holders to trade their AL NFTs using $ARTERY or $AVAX tokens that are bridged to the Artery L1 chain. That being said, if you don’t own an AL NFT already, you will have to wait for this marketplace to launch before getting one, as trading on OpenSea has been paused for the time being.

Next to the new passive buffs, EXP and Spore Boosters have now been adjusted to last 12 hours instead of 24 hours. Alongside these changes, the team has made server optimizations, lowered memory usage, and fixed out-of-memory crash issues, so this should be a more stable experience overall when compared to the previous build.

For the first season of this public beta launch, the developers are introducing two prize pool systems, though one them seems reserved to be activated for later, after the $ARTERY TGE has taken place. The one that is not live yet involves passive in-game drops, where players get to earn $ARTERY tokens through “integrated drop mechanics”. As for the one you can try competing for already is of course a leaderboard reward system, where 30 million $ARTERY tokens are up for grabs for the highest-ranked players and crews that have the highest Combat Power. Here’s how you can start climbing the leaderboard for a potential token airdrop.

How to Play to Airdrop in Memoria: Chronicles Idle Open Beta Season 1

Memoria: Chronicles Idle is a free to play browser-based 2D idle game, and anyone can easily start playing in Open Beta Season 1 for free by heading to the game’s official website, which is also linked in the above X announcement.

Once the game loads, you will be able to see your starting character and various stats determined by upgradable equipment. Simply click on “Enter” to start your run, in which your character will begin progressing through different stages and levels while engaging in idle battles against various 2D monsters. You get to occasionally activate your special ability to deal more damage. Win battles to continue progressing through stages and levels while earning Spores each time you defeat an enemy. Spores can be used to upgrade your equipment in order to increase your stats and thus make your character stronger and more ready to fight in increasingly harder levels.

By simply playing through the game and strengthening your character, you get to climb the Season 1 airdrop leaderboard. The more you play, the bigger your chances of being among the highest-ranked players, as your ranking is determined by the character’s Combat Power. You can increase your Combat Power by increasing your stats through equipment upgrades, which is done using Spores, that you earn not only from just playing the game and defeating monsters, but also passively when you’re away from the game as well.

If you’ve been looking for a completely free to play crypto game to play to airdrop in, then this first season of the open beta release of Memoria: Chronicles Idle is one you might want to check out.
