About Etherscape

Welcome to the Etherscape! You are an Etherborn, a rare being who possesses an eternal soul that transcends death. In this world, death is not the end, but a new beginning. Every time you die, you are reborn again, with a different body, but the same soul. But even in death not all is lots. Items can be Etherbound to your soul, making them follow you even to the underworld and back. These items are minted on the blockchain, making them unique and valuable. They can be traded, sold, and used to enhance your abilities. How will you use them? And what will you sacrifice to obtain them?

Etherscape FAQ

The Etherscape is an NFT-based shared-world online action RPG built on the Enjin Blockchain. It is currently in alpha development and is playable for free via the Epic Games Store. The game centers on a player-driven economy where players decide which in-game items become blockchain assets.

Yes, The Etherscape is free to play. It can be downloaded and played at no cost through the Epic Games Store. Players are not required to spend money or own crypto to start playing, though blockchain features involve NFTs.

The Etherscape runs on the Enjin Blockchain, which is built using the open-source Substrate framework and designed specifically for NFTs and gaming. The developers chose Enjin for its very low transaction fees and fast settlement, which support in-game item ownership and trading.

In The Etherscape, players collect and craft randomized loot, then choose to mint valuable items into NFTs known as Etherbound items. These blockchain items can be traded or sold to other players on NFT marketplaces. Players can also stake the game's governance token to earn rewards over time. Earnings are not guaranteed and depend on player activity and market demand.

Etherbound items are in-game items that players choose to mint as NFTs on the Enjin Blockchain in The Etherscape. Once an item becomes Etherbound, it is permanent, persists through character death, and is stored in the player's crypto wallet. This gives players true ownership, allowing them to trade or sell those items.

The Etherscape is available on PC and is distributed through the Epic Games Store. There is no officially announced mobile or console version at this time. Players need a compatible Windows PC to download and run the game.

Imperial Sovereigns is the governance token of The Etherscape. Holders can use it to vote on game decisions such as balance changes, new content proposals, and how community wallet funds are spent. Imperial Sovereigns can also be staked into structures on player-owned land to generate rewards like crafting resources and in-game boosts.

To start playing The Etherscape, download the game for free from the Epic Games Store and create a character. The core game can be played without crypto, but to mint, hold, or trade NFT items you will need an Enjin-compatible wallet such as the Enjin Wallet. Joining the official Discord can also provide access to community events and NFT giveaways.
