The next Multiverse Quest from Enjin, Essence of the Elements, is set to begin on January 16, 2026. This follows last year's Search for the Shadowsong and marks a major step in Enjin's plans to link games through shared NFTs and cross-game rewards. The new quest will run through the entire year, split into 4 themed seasons: Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth.

Each season brings new digital collectibles, seasonal games, and evolving NFTs called Elemental Blobs. These rewards can be earned by playing different games linked to the Enjin Multiverse and collecting Essence, a progress-based system tied to gameplay.

What to Expect in Essence of the Elements

Essence of the Elements begins with Fire Season on January 16 and runs through to March 31. The following seasons, Water, Wind, and Earth, will cover the rest of the year, ending on December 18. Each one offers new ways for players to explore the Multiverse and unlock rewards.

Different Essence to claim in the Enjin Multiverse Quest Essence of the Elements

To start each season, you will claim an item called Essence using the new Multiverse dashboard on NFT.io. By connecting your wallet, you can jump in and start earning progress through gameplay. Once connected, Essence builds automatically by playing any supported Multiverse game. The dashboard tracks progress and shows available tasks across titles.

Elemental Blobs and Seasonal Rewards

Each season comes with a new Elemental Blob NFT. These digital creatures grow and evolve based on the Essence collected during that season. The more time and effort players put in, the more their Blob changes, upgrading into rarer forms like Epic or Legendary variants.

There are 4 types of Blob:

  • Magma Blob (Fire Season)
  • Coral Blob (Water Season)
  • Cloud Blob (Wind Season)
  • Moss Blob (Earth Season)

Every season has 50,000 ENJ set aside for Blob rewards, totaling 200,000 ENJ for the year. Essence cannot be sold or traded, and players can't combine Essence from different wallets. All progress is tied to the single address used to connect to the dashboard.

New Multiverse Items and Ultra-Rare Degens

In addition to Blob rewards, each season features at least one new Multiverse item. These digital assets, built to work across all connected games, include:

  • Eternal Embers for Fire
  • Seafoam Amulet for Water
  • Windstruck Tome for Wind
  • Bedrock Helm for Earth

At the end of each season, those who earned Essence are entered into a seasonal draw. These drawings give out 150 to 1,000 Multiverse items, depending on the number of players, with 5% of participants getting something. One player will also be awarded an element-themed Degen, a rare NFT with a staking pool of 1 million.

The 4 Degens are:

  • Emberborne Degen
  • Tidalborne Degen
  • Stormborne Degen
  • Earthborne Degen

Players can win both a Degen and a Multiverse item in the same season. The more Essence you collect, the better your chances in the draw. These rewards are tied directly to how much time and progress you've made.

List of Supported Games

The starting lineup for this Multiverse Quest includes 5 games:

Each game offers its own way to earn Essence. Some reward time played, others focus on in-game goals or challenges. Players can choose to stick with one game or try out multiple titles. All progress counts toward the same seasonal goal.

New games may join in future seasons, but once a season begins, its game list stays fixed. This ensures players can plan their time without sudden changes.

How to Join the Multiverse Quest

Anyone can take part in Essence of the Elements. All that's needed is a gaming wallet connected to NFT.io. At the start of each season, the Multiverse dashboard will allow players to claim their Essence.

From there, it's all about gameplay. Each title will show how to get more Essence, and the dashboard helps track what you've done and where to go next.

Seasonal Draw Dates

Each season ends with a reward draw based on the total Essence earned by every player. The scheduled draw dates are:

  • Fire Season: April 3, 2026
  • Water Season: July 3, 2026
  • Wind Season: October 2, 2026
  • Earth Season: December 21, 2026

Essence can't be moved between wallets or stored for future use. You'll need to use it within the same season to qualify for that season's draw.

Recap of the 2024 Multiverse Quest

The first-ever Multiverse Quest took place from October 1 to 15, 2024, under the name The Search for the Shadowsong. It featured 3 Enjin-powered games: Lost Relics, The Six Dragons, and Etherscape. All were free to play via the Epic Games Store.

In that event, top players earned the Shadowsong NFT, a magical staff with different uses in each game. In Lost Relics, it brought 205 damage as a magic weapon. In The Six Dragons, it boosted stats when health dropped below a certain point. In Etherscape, it cut the cost of enchanting items.

These digital items belonged to Enjin's Multiverse NFT Collection, a shared set of 16 items designed to work across different genres. That collection included swords, staffs, shields, and even futuristic guns, each offering unique features depending on the game.

Quests in 2024 were designed to run for 2 weeks, followed by breaks, giving players time to try their rewards in other games. This flexible structure helped test the cross-game features Enjin had built into its platform.

A Brief Look at Enjin and Its Tools

Enjin is a blockchain platform made for gaming and NFTs. It offers tools for developers to create and manage digital assets that work across games. These include SDKs, APIs, a wallet system, and a dedicated network called the Enjin Blockchain.

Key parts of the Enjin platform include:

  • ENJ token, used to back digital items and cover blockchain fees
  • ERC-1155 standard, supporting both unique and shared assets
  • NFT.io, a marketplace for trading and claiming NFTs
  • Beam, a QR-code tool for quick NFT sharing
  • Enjin Wallet, which supports all platform assets

This setup allows developers to build new types of game items, while players use those assets across different worlds.
