STEPN draait om een dagelijkse activiteit die de meeste mensen doen: bewegen. We zijn het eerste project dat een werkend move&earn-concept succesvol tot leven brengt en eindigden als 4e van meer dan 500 projecten op de Solana Ignition Hackathon 2021.
Gebruikers rusten zich uit met NFT’s in de vorm van sneakers. Door buiten te wandelen, joggen of hardlopen verdienen ze in-game valuta die zowel in het spel als voor winst kan worden gebruikt.
Met Game-Fi wil STEPN miljoenen mensen een gezondere levensstijl laten aannemen, klimaatverandering tegengaan en het grote publiek verbinden met Web 3.0, terwijl het Social-Fi-aspect een duurzaam platform bouwt voor door gebruikers gegenereerde Web 3.0-content.

STEPN is a Web3 move-to-earn (M2E) lifestyle app that rewards users for physical activity such as walking, jogging, and running outdoors. It combines fitness, NFTs, and blockchain by tracking movement through GPS and rewarding users with in-app crypto tokens. STEPN was developed by Find Satoshi Lab (FSL) and finished among the top projects at the Solana Ignition Hackathon in 2021.
The STEPN app itself is free to download on iOS and Android, but it is not free to earn with. To start earning tokens, users must own at least one NFT sneaker, which is purchased from the in-app marketplace. Without a sneaker NFT, movement is not rewarded.
In STEPN, users earn by equipping an NFT sneaker and then walking, jogging, or running outdoors with GPS enabled. Movement consumes Energy, and rewards are paid in in-app tokens for each minute of activity while Energy lasts. Sneaker attributes and rarity influence how much a user can earn, and tokens can be used in-app or cashed out.
STEPN was built on the Solana blockchain and is widely known as one of the first major fitness apps on Solana. Its governance token GMT also exists on additional networks, including Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB Smart Chain, and STEPN has expanded support to other chains through its multichain Realms structure.
STEPN uses a dual-token model. GST (Green Satoshi Token) is the utility token earned through movement and spent on actions like repairs and upgrades, and it has an unlimited supply. GMT (Green Metaverse Token) is the governance token with a fixed maximum supply of 6 billion, used for staking, governance, and higher-tier in-app actions. The newer STEPN GO app introduced an additional token called GGT.
STEPN is a mobile app available for both Android and iOS smartphones. Because earning relies on accurate movement tracking, a device with a reliable GPS signal is required, and activity must be done outdoors. There is no desktop or console version of STEPN.

STEPN GO is a newer app from Find Satoshi Lab, released in beta in 2024, that builds on the original STEPN move-to-earn concept with added game and social features. It uses FSL ID login and introduces features such as the Haus System for lending sneakers to friends, a Fitness Level mechanic, and the GGT token. It runs alongside the original STEPN app within the wider FSL ecosystem.
