Infinite Tides Legendary Depths Season 2 is now live in Pirate Nation with a 3.4 million $PIRATE prize pool to compete for over the course of 2 weeks.
What Is Pirate Nation?
Pirate Nation is a web3 turn-based RPG running fully on-chain on the Arbitrum network. Developed by blockchain gaming studio and infrastructure company Proof of Play and backed by a16z, this browser-based title puts players in a pirate-themed world filled with engaging PvE battles to enjoy in the form of tactical turn-based gameplay. Use your own ship and set up your own customizable deck of cards to use in fights as you complete varied quests and earn on-chain rewards.
This blockchain game is currently in beta, and you can play it as a free to play title on web browsers by heading to the game’s official website and signing up using your crypto wallet or a social media profile such as Google or Discord.
What Is Infinite Tides in Pirate Nation?
Infinite Tides is a new PvE game mode that launched on June 4, 2025, to give players a new way to earn rewards by offering a roguelite battle experience in which the goal is to survive a certain number of waves of different enemies using only a single Ship, so there’s no health regeneration at the end of each wave.
You start off with a deck of 11 cards, with 4 of them changing based on the Pirate and Ship you choose to play with. Each time you are victorious, you get to add a new card to your deck by choosing one of 3 available options, or you can just pass if you don’t want any of them. Playing this mode with an active VIP Pass does give you a 4th option to choose from after each battle.
As a free to play player, you get 3 keys to use to start a run for free every 24 hours, with 1 run consuming 1 key. You can buy up to 3 more keys every 24 hours for the price of 50 Gems per key, and you can get 1 extra key by buying a VIP Pass subscription.
For the first season, players had 7 days to beat 25 waves in order earn a limited edition skin called Hanzo the Samurai. This second season looks way more packed with rewards. Let’s see how Season 2 works!
What’s New in Infinite Tides Legendary Depths Season 2?
Season 2 of Infinite Tides Legendary Depths is a 2-week event that started on July 8 and will end on July 22 at 00:00 UTC, introducing a variety of new additions for a more competitive play to earn experience.
Not only is this season a week longer, but it also introduces a 3.4 million $PIRATE token prize pool. That’s currently around ~$125k worth of token rewards! Another key difference for this event is that this time around, rewards are leaderboard-based. This means that there is now a new scoring system in place which tracks your entire run performance in this PvE mode. With this scoring system, it’s not only important to clear as many waves as you can, but it’s also important to complete them as fast as possible. The faster you beat the increasingly challenging waves of enemies, the higher your score will be across 2 leaderboards, potentially leading to a bigger share of the prize pool. This means completing a wave with as few rounds as possible. The amount of damage you deal to the Squid also helps. Every 5th round is said to be a boss wave that comes with triple score multipliers, so you’ll want to take advantage of those waves as much as you can.

Overall, it’s quite a shake-up from the first season, and a welcome one at that. The developers did mention before that they plan on introducing leaderboards dedicated specifically to this mode, and they’re already doing just that, a month after the mode’s initial run.
A couple of other changes have also been made for Season 2. After every boss win, you now get the choice to pick a heal card, which might be just what you need to push your run ever so further for that higher score. The team has been listening to community, and as a result have “juiced up” card choices. They’ve also removed Affinity damage from this mode entirely.
For Season 2, there are two leaderboards to climb: Top Run and Total Runs. The first one tracks your best run, while the second takes into account all your scores from each run.
The Top Run leaderboard will reward the top 1000 players in the following way:
- 1st: 21,000 $PIRATE
- 2nd: 14,000 $PIRATE
- 3rd: 8,100 $PIRATE
- 4th - 10th: 4,200 $PIRATE
- 11th - 25th: 2,500 $PIRATE
- 26th - 100th: 1,400 $PIRATE
- 101st - 500th: 500 $PIRATE
- 501st - 1000th: 200 $PIRATE
As for the Total Runs leaderboard, $PIRATE tokens are up for grabs for the top 10k players! This is how reward distribution looks like for this ladder:
- 1st: 21,000 $PIRATE
- 2nd: 14,000 $PIRATE
- 3rd: 8,100 $PIRATE
- 4th - 10th: 4,200 $PIRATE
- 11th - 25th: 2,500 $PIRATE
- 26th - 100th: 1,400 $PIRATE
- 101st - 500th: 700 $PIRATE
- 501st - 1000th: 450 $PIRATE
- 1001st - 5000th: 300 $PIRATE
- 5001st - 10,000th: 200 $PIRATE
Here’s how you can take part in this season and potentially earn some $PIRATE tokens in the process.
