Off The Grid (OTG) is officially launching on Steam today, July 17. The cyberpunk-themed battle royale from Gunzilla Games first arrived on the platform in Early Access back in June. Once live later today, the Steam version will join the game's existing releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store.
To mark the launch, the studio has released a "PC VS Console Cinematic" trailer, which showcases the cross-platform competition thanks to full crossplay support across all versions. Players can wishlist the game now at otg.gg/steam.
New Steam Launch and Battle Pass Sections Now Live
Before the Steam release, a new patch rolled out this week, opening up Battle Pass Sections 3 and 4. Each brings fresh cosmetic rewards tied to OTG's unique cyberpunk world. Section 3 is themed around the Drone Operator, while Section 4 comes with the Zero Chill line.

Section 3 includes the Drone Operator character skin, the Kite Buzzboy weapon, the Hover Touch emote, and a Jaws of Victory M4 Commodore skin. Section 4 adds the Zero Chill outfit, Osprey Zero Chill weapon, Cold Snap emote, and a matching Osprey skin.
This patch also marks the end of the Red, White and Boom Event. As a result, Major Cracker Jack and its associated content have been removed from the Battle Pass.

New Attachments, Cyberlimb Balancing, and Combat Fixes
The latest update also brings new attachments for the Kite SMG, including options for the barrel, stock, grip, and underbarrel. Several key cyberlimbs saw changes as well.
Buzzkilla now fires in three-shot bursts. While its damage per bullet has been lowered from 42 to 32, the change increases overall output due to its burst mechanic. Its size has been increased by 30% and HP dropped from 500 to 400.
Bug fixes for the Hammerheads and Kinetic Shield limbs improve animation and camera issues, especially during emotes and slides. Several movement bugs were also fixed, improving momentum during falls and slides. Melee attacks no longer interrupt shoulder-switching.
UI Tweaks and Lobby Improvements
The patch also cleaned up a few UI issues. In the lobby, some hint descriptions were previously missing. These have now been fixed. A loot interaction bug in the Marshlands map has been resolved, along with zipline pillar climbing exploits.

What Is Off The Grid?
Off The Grid is a near-future multiplayer shooter from film director Neill Blomkamp, known for sci-fi hits like District 9 and Elysium. Players take part in a televised battle royale where cyber-augmented fighters battle for loot and glory. Death is temporary, but your gear and reputation can last forever.
The game centers on fast, vertical movement enabled by jetpacks, and a modular limb-swapping system that lets you customize abilities mid-match. Players can loot the limbs of downed enemies, mix them with over 15 types of cyberware, and craft a setup that matches their combat style.
Set on Teardrop Island, the map supports a planned 60-hour cinematic campaign coming later this year. For now, players can join PvP matches and compete in ranked modes or free-for-all deathmatches. All loot found or earned can be traded in an open marketplace.
Major Gameplay Changes and Crossplay Improvements
In preparation for the Steam release, OTG received a large update in May. Combat became more lethal with a 30% reduction in time-to-kill across all weapons. To balance this, spread mechanics were changed, especially while moving or airborne.
Legendary weapons like the Vulture, Kelowna, and Kite now appear during matches. These items bring high performance, but must be looted in-match.
Gunplay improvements also fixed issues with aim assist, scope bugs, and introduced more weapon control through recoil tuning.
A new ranked mode is being quietly tested in the background. The team is using this phase to fine-tune matchmaking and improve the experience for both new and veteran players.
GUN Token Now Live on Solana, Expanding Access
On July 10, Gunzilla launched its $GUN token on Solana. Previously exclusive to the Avalanche network, this move is part of Gunzilla's multi-chain strategy. The goal is to lower barriers for players entering the GUNZ ecosystem, which powers OTG's in-game economy.
To celebrate, the game added a Solana-themed NFT skin pack. Players can buy, sell, and trade gear on the in-game marketplace using GUN tokens. Despite the recent 69% drop in price from its all-time high, Gunzilla reports over $666,000 in trading volume over the past 30 days.
According to the team, more chains will be added in the future to increase access and liquidity. A partnership with Blackhole DEX aims to support this effort with new token pools.
Mainnet Migration and Marketplace Stats
In June, Gunzilla began migrating users to the GUNZ mainnet. Over 21,000 players have moved so far. The ecosystem now supports NFT ownership, validator nodes, and wallet integration.
More than 17.3 million wallets have been created on GUNZ. In the past month alone, players decoded over 413,000 HEXes and completed $13 million worth of trades. The game now includes decentralized validator NFTs, with most of the 10,000 nodes currently live.
New Dev Tools and Game Modes
Gunzilla has also introduced tools like DEGENRADAR for market tracking and OTG Meta for monitoring player builds. A new Cyberlimb, the Cyberlancer, now gives players a dash attack and bleed effect. Four new arenas support a 20-player free-for-all deathmatch mode.
Weapon updates include damage boosts for the Kestrel sniper and faster fire rates for the AZV100. Players can now use scope views in both first and third person, and PC players gain access to gyro aiming.
What's Next for Off The Grid
Gunzilla's latest roadmap includes a redesigned GUNZ site, OpenSea integration, and the official launch of OTG on Steam. The Steam version will initially run on the GUNZ testnet.
The studio also teased new partnerships using their HEX reveal system. More announcements are expected through July.
Directed by Neill Blomkamp, Off The Grid is shaping up as a rare mix of fast-paced shooter gameplay and real asset ownership. With the game going live on Steam, Gunzilla is hoping to grow its audience across both web2 and web3 gamers.
