Horror extraction FPS The Bornless is undergoing a new playtest this upcoming weekend: Fractured Souls. A number of new additions are included, and while participation is free, entry is limited. Here is everything you need to know!
What’s New in The Bornless Fractured Souls Playtest?
On June 7 and June 8, eligible participants with a Steam key will have 48 hours to participate in the Fractured Souls playtest while enjoying new features and content that make The Bornless even more fun to play than before. These include expanded server uptime and the addition of trading, quests, a visual overhaul, new secrets, unique personality types, and improved account progression in the form of new unlockable Playable Characters and Demons.
Among the big changes introduced with this playtest is the 48-hour server uptime. Previous test sessions, such as Halloween Weekend Playtest, were considerably shorter, making it more difficult for players from various different timezones to participate and make the most of the available time. Now that the servers will run for about 48 hours, players from all parts of the world will find it much easier to jump in and spend hours playtesting this early version of the extraction shooter.
Aside from making playtests longer, there is now also more gameplay features to enjoy as well. This includes the introduction of trading and quests. The scarcity of valuable loot is said to be at the heart of the gameplay experience in this online action horror game, so you’ll be visiting Haag a good amount between intense matches. Haag is a Demon Merchant that will offer you new quests and trades you can take to gain Gold, which you can then use to get new weapons.
The developers have fully revamped the game’s visuals with enhanced lighting, shadows, reflections, and plenty more details, all made possible thanks to enabling Nanite, Lumen, and hardware ray tracing, making the game much more stunning than ever before. Alongside graphical improvements, many new secrets await you on the haunted Farmouth Island. These are said to include new locations, ancient crypts, hidden Enigmas, improved enemy behavior, and even more goodies that you’ll have to uncover on your own.
Another new addition is that there are now Playable Characters and Demons for every single personality type. This makes each selection unique, with each Demon now having their own power and abilities that are suitable for various distinct playstyles.
Account progression has not only been improved, but it will now actually be saved as well, making it worthwhile to jump into this playtest to be among the early players getting a head start in unlocking new Playable Characters and Demons ahead of the upcoming Steam Next Fest. This means that by participating in this playtest, you will have the opportunity to play to unlock up to 10 Playable Seekers and 3 different Demons, with all your progress and inventory said to be saved for the public test phase coming up right after the weekend on Steam.
