What's new in DEADROP?

Dr. Disrespect's Midnight Society has released the second snapshot of DEADROP - a vertical extraction shooter game in the making. It's a highly-anticipated release as the new version brings more extensive gameplay.

Dubbed CL 3184, the DEADROP snapshot 2 features a brand new PvP arena called the Proving Ground, where players can either extract and play it safe or go all in for the ultimate prize - The Deadrop.

Variants (a.k.a. gamers) will still spawn at the Player's Hideout - a place to hone their shooting skills before going for the battle. There's also a new spot called the Garage, where players can customize their sweet rides in the future. (See below).

Those who are ready can always drop into the Proving Ground, a vertical arena outside the Tower that features both indoor and outdoor PvP. As Variants explore their surroundings, they must watch out for other players while gathering items such as weapons, floppy disks, etc., along the way.

There are now 12 different types of weapons available. Variants can get these from loot containers or from opponents they killed in the game. If needed, they can also heal themselves at various health stations in the building.

After a certain amount of time, the HUD (heads-up display) will point out the specific extraction point. Players will have two choices then. One is to get to the extraction point to return to their Hideout with all their loots. Or, stay in the game and be the last one standing to get The Deadrop, a combination of the remaining loot.

As of now, these snapshots, or iterations of DEADROP are only available to Access Pass holders. All passes have been fully minted and are now available on OpenSea

DEADROP, however, will be free-to-play at launch. Here's a quick look at what the game looks like (Credit: Brycent):
