World-class game development and R&D studio, Laguna Games will be hosting a Jousting Preseason event to celebrate the successful release of the game mode. Jousting is a battle mode in Crypto Unicorns where two unicorns compete with their strength and speed. In February, Crypto Unicorn introduced Jousting as a new battle mode.  The team is using this medium to prepare players for larger leagues. 

Details of Jousting Preseason event

The Josuting Preseason will run in a six weekly tournament cycle starting from March 16th to May 1st (00:00 UTC). This tournament features three main tiers namely: beginner (Trotter), intermediate (Dasher), & advanced (Charger). Each week players can compete to earn “Contender” and “Champion” tickets by earning top ranks in tournaments. Contender tickets can be earned in any type of tournament while Champion tickets are exclusively obtained in Charger & Contender Tournaments. The Trotter, Dasher, & Charger tournaments will be available throughout the week while Contender and Champion tournaments will only be available 3 days. 

The total prize pool of the event is pegged at 50,000 USDC. However, the prize amount earned is dependent on the weekly USDC allocation and the number of Champion Tournaments completed. Winners will receive the USDC prize the following week through a direct wallet transfer. Players can get access to the Champion Tournament in various ways. They can enter a Contenders trials after triumphing in Trotter & Dasher Tournament or participate in Charger Tournaments (direct access). 

The Jousting Preseason tournament will have a dynamic tournament requirement. A different unicorn which  requirements could be stat or class-based is needed weekly. Players can check out the various requirements. Interestingly, Crypto Unicorns introduced giftboxes as aconsolation prizes to early players who fallout of the tournaments.
