The developers of Domi Online have opened their MMORPG up for a new public playtest, during which players can get an early look at the web3 title while helping uncover bugs to help the team further polish the game for the upcoming open alpha release while receiving bounty rewards for doing so.
What Is Domi Online?
Domi Online is a free to play, play to earn MMORPG set in a medieval fantasy 3D world with no level or skill caps. Explore diverse environments and engage in intense third-person PvE and PvP battles while leveling up a variety of professions as much as you want, but try to not to die, because if you do, you can lose your gear and possibly XP as well, potentially decreasing your level.
After hosting a public playtest in December 2024 with mostly leaderboard-based token rewards, the team is now finally ready for a new public stress test that anyone can jump in and try out while potentially earning $AVAX and $DOMI as bug bounty rewards. Here are some of the significant additions introduced and how you can join in while time remains.
What’s New in Domi Online’s Latest Public Playtest?
The team has been hard at work this whole year at creating the most refined playtest for Domi Online yet, and after hosting the last playtest way back in December 2024, the blockchain gaming community can now finally try out the game again and be rewarded for helping the developers uncover any potential.
That being said, this latest build brings with it a number of new additions that enhance the overall gameplay experience with new world map art, visual upgrades, combat improvements, loot revamp, world chunks, a new conquest guild system, expanded professions, server enhancements, and even more, as revealed in X and Discord announcements.
As with the previous playtest, this one too lets you explore all of the game’s medieval fantasy world, which is said to be filled with “danger and discovery.” Some of the mainland’s notable landmarks to explore include the heart of Domi that is the Stannfyr Capital, the traveler’s haven called Saint’s Rest, the treacherous seas of Leviathan’s Reach, and the mystical peaks of Vyorkur Mountains. These are some of the many areas waiting to be explored and discovered throughout this test session. If you’ve played before, you will now find that there is new world map art, while exploration should feel smoother than before thanks to the introduction of world chunks, which is a system that splits the map into chunks in order to deliver better performance. On top of these changes, the map has been further improved with visual and environmental upgrades that add in better-looking landscapes and foliage.

When it comes to combat improvements, enemies are now more intelligent than before, as they can now chase players with better pathfinding, and even counter kiting more effectively, making battles more intense than before. These enemy NPCs now also scale by tier, with higher-tier ones showing more aggression, making for a more challenging combat experience. There are no profession restrictions, nor any level or skill cap to worry about though, so you can make your character build as strong and diverse as you want to be ready to face any intense situation out in the wilderness.
While enemies are now stronger to deal with, this is compensated by a revamp of the loot system, which now brings better drops and the ability to share (or steal) items with other players. Professions have also been expanded to include to new craftable items and recipes to make use of.
To add further depth to gameplay, the team has introduced the Conquest Guild system in this test session. This is a new feature located at a specific location in the game to give players one spot in which they can complete grinding tasks by slaying various monsters to earn rewards.
Server stability has been improved for more stable gameplay, and server-sided NPC culling has been introduced in order to lower server memory usage through better handling of NPCs. There have been improvements to UI and social features as well, alongside bug fixes, quality of life changes, performance tweaks, and balancing adjustments to make this the best version of the game so far.
“This is by far our biggest leap forward yet, and we can’t wait to see how you tackle the world of Domi Online!” said the game’s COO, Harley, in a Discord announcement.
In terms of crypto rewards, this playtest features a Bug Bounty reward pool consisting of $AVAX or $DOMI tokens. The amount wasn’t exactly revealed, but if you report “high-impact” bugs and issues through the in-game reporting function or the bug report forums of the game’s official Discord server, and no one else has reported the same issue before, then you could find a share of the token prize pool.
How to Join Domi Online’s Newest Public Playtest
Anyone can join Domi Online’s newest public playtest for free from September 17, 6 PM BST, to September 28, 6 PM BST, by downloading the game from the official website, where you will find a “Play Now” button that will take you to the download section where you can the Windows version of the game’s launcher, with a Steam release planned for the future.
By participating in this playtest, you can play to earn $AVAX or $DOMI tokens by reporting impactful bugs and issues you may stumble across as you enjoy MMORPG gameplay. You can press F12 in-game to report issues directly, but you can also head to the game’s Discord server and report bugs there by including details, screenshots, and the steps that can be taken to reproduce the issue.
This could very well be the final public playtest before the open alpha release takes place, so if you want to help the developers deliver a better blockchain gaming experience, then now is the time to jump in and help out while potentially being rewarded with bug bounties for doing so. There are no restrictions to gameplay, so you can progress and explore as much as you want to, but unlike most other MMOs, dying in this one does come with consequences. While there are no level or skill caps, if you die, there is a chance that you lose some of the loot you have with you, plus your experience, so you can actually drop a level or two by dying. If you like the sound of this high-stakes gameplay and are a fan of old-school MMORPGs, then Domi Online could be the play to earn MMO you’re looking for.
