Developer Pixward Games, the team behind Boss Fighters, has officially formed a new partnership with web3 gaming ecosystem Immutable, leading to the launch of the Quest Campaign on Immutable Play.
What Is Boss Fighters?
Boss Fighters is an asymmetrical arcade shooter in which players can take on the role of Fighters and team up to battle one VR player donning the gigantic shoes of the Boss. Enjoy action-packed arena combat in third-person view as the Fighter and use the environment and teamwork to your advantage to successfully achieve victory and unlock new upgradable weapons, gadgets, and abilities to customize your loadout with. As the big VR Boss, you get to use various fun physics-based weapons and the ability to alter the destructible futuristic environments to your liking in order to destroy the speedy Fighters in various ways.
While players get to enjoy physics-driven gameplay, Twitch viewers can have fun interacting with various streaming features that allow spectators to influence the flow of the match, making it more exciting for both those in the thick of high-octane action, and those comfortably watching the chaos unfold on stream.
When it comes to web3 features, the game is powered by Open Loot, giving players the option to truly own their in-game assets as NFTs. This means that Fighters, Bosses, weapons, limited cosmetic skins, and Reward Boxes can be minted into tradable NFTs. By owning your assets, you get to keep your loot between seasons, and you gain the ability to play to earn token rewards in various leaderboards and events.
The game is available as a free to play demo in Early Access on Steam for Windows PCs, and as a free VR game on the Meta Store, where the following VR devices are supported: Meta Quest 3S, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 2. The Steam version also comes with VR support for the following devices: HTC Vive (all models), Valve Index, Pico Neo 2, Oculus Quest 1/2 (using Oculus Link), and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. Next to Steam and the Meta Store, you can also download the chaotic PC/VR title through the Open Loot Launcher. Though the game has been listed on the Epic Games Store, it seems that you can only wishlist there for the time being.
What Is the Immutable x Boss Fighters Quest Campaign?
The Immutable x Boss Fighters Quest Campaign is a new opportunity for web3 gamers to collect more Gems and claim rewards on Immutable Play. This means that the game now has its own dedicated page on the growing gaming platform, launched thanks to a new partnership with the blockchain gaming ecosystem.
The campaign went live on August 29 with social and economy quests, but gameplay quests should be added this week to further encourage new players to join in. If you want to earn Immutable’s Gems platform currency for potential rewards while enjoying Boss Fighters, then here’s what you can do to get started.
How to Play and Earn in Immutable x Boss Fighters Quest Campaign
To play and earn in the Immutable x Boss Fighters Quest Campaign, head on over to the game’s official page on Immutable Play and sign up with your Immutable Passport. If this is your first time accessing this ecosystem, you can easily set up a Passport using your email address or social sign in option such as Google, Apple, or Facebook.
With an account set up, you’re ready to earn Gems, the core platform currency of Immutable Play that gives anyone a chance to earn rewards for free. On the game’s platform page, you can start completing a variety of quests by following the game. Simply press the “Follow now” button on the right side of the page to earn 10 Gems and unlock all available quests.
At the time of writing, there are a couple of social tasks and “Economy Quests” to complete, with everything so far pretty much geared towards helping onboard new players to Boss Fighters. Each quest awards 10 Gems, with the 3 Economy Quests requiring you to connect your Passport wallet to your game account, connect your MetaMask wallet to the game account, and stake $BFTOKEN for perpetual rewards. The staking quest is the only task so far that wards 60 Gems. In the coming days, you should see gameplay quests pop up too, incentivizing you to start playing the web3 title while earning more Gems in the process.
To create a game account and link your crypto wallets, you’ll want to access the economy section of the game’s official website, where you can set up your profile using your email address.
In case you’re not familiar, Gems is the core rewards currency on the Immutable Play platform, used to redeem Keys of varying rarity. With a Key, you can enter a Weekly Draw, through which you have a chance of winning various prizes, such as a free entry for next week’s draw, more Gems, $IMX tokens, or a Key Tier-Up for the next draw. The rarer your Key is, the better your rewards could be.
Joining the Quest Campaign is a great way to get started with playing Boss Fighters, so if you’re new to the game, then now might be the time to try it out if you enjoy asymmetrical multiplayer shooters. Whether you’re a returning player or new to the game, this event is either way a nice new chance for everyone to stack up on more Gems for potential rewards, and will hopefully be even better once the gameplay quests start rolling in soon.
