The Sandbox, in partnership with RadicalxChange (pronounced "radical exchange"), has launched an exciting event, the "Impact Game Jam". This event combines The Sandbox's no-code Game Maker with RadicalxChange's ideas on reshaping economic and political systems. Over the next 3 weeks, creators are challenged to design games that could potentially transform how we think about digital landscapes.  

Interested builders must register by May 6th and join the theme reveal event on the same day. This Game Jam is not just a contest; it's an invitation to explore new forms of governance through gaming. Participants will use The Sandbox's Game Maker software, which will be locked to the version available at the start of the event. Throughout the Game Jam, the team will provide continuous support through weekly emails that include resources, workshops, and AMAs.

    Game Jam Kick-Off AMA & Theme reveal — 1:30 PM UTC on Twitch. 
  • May 7th
    Live Workshop — 1:30 PM UTC on Twitch.

    Submission Deadline — 5:00 PM UTC.
  • June 29th
    Live Awards Ceremony on Twitch — 7 PM UTC.

This time, the prize pool features 50,000 SAND tokens, 20 LANDs, and exclusive CATALYST Packs. The first 100 valid submissions will each receive 100 SAND. This reward system is designed to encourage a wide range of creators, from newbies to professionals, to participate. 

RadicalxChange also encourages builders to include mechanisms like quadratic voting and collective decision-making in their games. This approach aims to introduce users to alternative economic theories, which may influence future designs in blockchain gaming.  

The Game Jam also places a strong emphasis on community. Newcomers to The Sandbox can find guidance and team up with others via Discord. As the event concludes, all creations will be judged based on originality, integration of the theme, and usability, with a live Awards Ceremony on June 29th.
