Valannia, a blockchain strategy MMO in development in Unreal Engine 5 on the Solana network, has just received a new roadmap for 2024, a year the announcement claims is set to be a “turning point” for the Web3 title.
Titled Tales of Valannia, the roadmap features info on various milestones the developers plan to achieve in all four quarters fo the year. It serves as a sneak peek of what’s ahead, with the developers teasing that there are “also many exciting things that are not listed on the roadmap.”
In the first quarter, the team will be looking to make minor improvements to the marketplace for a better user experience while introducing a new referral program called Valannia Gateway. By participating in this program, you will have a chance to earn a percentage of every sale that takes place on the official marketplace.
The second quarter will mark the release of Dawn of Heroes: Origin, which represents the first batch of heroes that you can use to enter Valannia. In the game, there will be a total of 24 heroes, 3 for each race, one of which is a Race Leader that has a 4% chance of being generated and comes with exclusive abilities that will be revealed in the future. A specific date for minting this first unique set of heroes does not seem to be available at the time of writing.
What is known though is that if you end up minting an Origins hero, you will be able to take part in the first phase of Interactive Staking referred to as Dawn of Heroes: Adventure. Holders will get to send heroes on special missions through which heroes will earn XP and level up while having a potential chance of finding exclusive NFTs called Valannia Gems that will be usable in the second phase.
Q2 will also include the launch of the Guilds feature in the DApp alongside Power Scrolls, which are extremely rare items that will include in-game utilities for special events alongside various airdrops, such as an airdrop of a Mystic Land reserved exclusively to scroll owners.
For Q3, the community can look forward to the introduction of Combat Units, of which there will be 6 types, and a token launch in the same quarter is also scheduled to take place.
Last but not least, the final quarter of the year will feature the first closed alpha version of Valannia Arena, that is set to be available to ring owners only and is said to combine MOBA and RTS gameplay for 1v1 and 2v2 PvP action. In the meantime, you can check out pre-alpha gameplay footage made in Unreal Engine 5.
Token staking is also on the way for Q4, and so is the second phase of Interactive Staking, Dawn of Heroes: Crafting, during which players will be able to upgrade hero equipment using Valannia Gems. Item trading on the official marketplace is also planned to be available. The third and final phase of Interactive Staking, Dawn of Heroes: Mining, will go live in 2025.
