Snoop Dogg x The Sandbox Land Sale Starting Tomorrow

After initially postponing the Snoop Dogg land sale for The Sandbox, the team has now suddenly announced that the first wave takes place on December 2nd, 1PM UTC. Tomorrow they will sell 122 regular lands, 67 premium lands and 3 estates. The big thing here is that all these lands will be very close to virtual real estate owned by Cozomo de Medici a.k.a. Snoop Dogg.

Land in The Sandbox is currently in high demand. The cheapest lands on the secondary market cost 1790 SAND, which translates to $11,921. Tomorrow during the land sale, a regular land parcel will go for 1011 SAND, providing a serious discount against the market price. A premium land will carry a 4683 SAND price tag, as it always has.

However, these premium parcels come with extra NFTs. In this case Snoop Dogg-themed assets including The Snoopverse Early Access Pass, which will give owners early access to Snoop Dogg's creations in the metaverse. In addition there will be a Snoop statue and the Brown Sugar car.

This will be the last land sale for The Sandbox in 2021. That would mean that the second Snoop Dogg land sale takes place next year.

The Sandbox Alpha now live

The Sandbox opened its first play-to-earn event on November 29th, allowing players to experience and explore the voxel universe for the first time. Players who own The Alpha Pass get to try out 18 game experiences, while earning up to 1000 SAND in the process. In addition there will be three exclusive NFT awards.

Players who don’t own The Alpha Pass will still have access to three game experiences and the social hub. However, they won’t be able to earn the play-to-earn rewards.

The alpha test for The Sandbox will start on November 29th and ends December 20th. Every day the team will release a new game experience, starting with the The Sandbox Alpha Hub.

What is The Sandbox?

The Sandbox is one of the blockchain-powered virtual worlds currently in development. The virtual world of The Sandbox consists out of lands, and voxels fill up each of those lands. Visually it will remind many gamers of Minecraft, as both games have this Lego-inspired look to them. However, players are able to buy virtual land and implement any form of monetization. These virtual lands can become mini-games, adventures, virtual shops, extensions of actual webshops, a space for social gatherings, and so on.

The Sandbox is providing free tools for developers, gamers and content creators. Creators can use VoxEdit to make objects. In addition the Game Maker allows users to create interactivity on their virtual land. The Sandbox will also create a meta gaming experience. Players can for example do daily quests or weekly quests for their guild. This will earn players SAND, which they can sell or use to buy in-game items or virtual land.
