VoxEdit, the official voxel editing software for The Sandbox hosts regular competitions to promote their tool and offer opportunities to create and earn. The general rules for VoxEdit contests include submitting the entries in high quality and without any plagiarism.

One of this month's contests includes designing a hot air balloon which should be larger than 512 voxels and the entire unit should not use a box bigger than 512 voxels on each side. The deadline for hot air balloon contests is May 12th, 11:59 pm UTC and results will be declared on June 2nd. 

Prizes for this contest are as follows:

  • 1st place – 6,000 SAND
  • 2nd place – 3,500 SAND
  • 3rd place – 2,000 SAND
  • 4th to 10th place – 500 SAND each

The second competition is Star Atlas Faction Contest, which is being hosted in partnership with Star Atlas. Participants need to create an inhabitant from one of three factions: Oni, Ustur or MUD. The winner will get Orgika Mik and Busan Thrill of Life NFTs. 

In addition to the Faction contest, the companies are also hosting a secondary contest in which the task is to create a headpiece inspired by BLOND:ISH, an artist who creates for both The Sandbox and Star Atlas. Submissions for both contests are open until May 15th, 11:59 p.m. UTC and results will be announced on June 11th.

All contests accept gifs of the animated asset via Twitter, using the hashtags #VoxEditWeekly and #WeAreStarAtlas and tagging @VoxEdit, @TheSandboxGame, and @StarAtlas, and then filling out a submission form on the website.
