Behold. Pixels and Forgotten Runiverse are teaming up for a cross-game token event on Ronin! Players can earn and spend $PIXEL in both games, with Quanta acting as the bridge currency inside Forgotten Runiverse.
The event brings Pixels' farming sim economy into the fantasy world of Runiverse, letting players unlock boosts, mana, and exclusive rewards. It's a first-of-its-kind collab that seeks to combine the two ecosystems—and give both communities new ways to play and earn.
This new event is more than a one-off drop. It's a full-on integration between two of Ronin's standout titles.
According to a joint statement from both teams:
"Web3 gaming will only reach its full potential if we work together, and expanding $PIXEL across multiple games reinforces our vision for creating a more sustainable web3 gaming ecosystem," said Pixels founder Luke Barwikowski.
Forgotten Runiverse, made by Bisonic and based on the cult-favorite Forgotten Runes Wizard's Cult, is weaving $PIXEL into its core systems—giving players new things to earn and new ways to power up.
Players will be able to:
So whether you're a Pixels farmer or a Runiverse explorer, there's value in stacking both tokens.
"By integrating PIXEL into the Runiverse, we're offering players the chance to engage with a proven token economy inside a new game," said Shane Bierwith, COO at Bisonic. "This not only adds immediate utility for PIXEL, but also strengthens our own ecosystem as we prepare to launch our native token, XP."
While the exact launch date is still under wraps, it's expected to go live within weeks. Meanwhile, players are being told to get ready by farming and stacking up Quanta.
If you're a Pixels player, you'll be able to:
If you're a Runiverse player:
There are multiple ways to earn Quanta. Here's the rundown:
Both Pixels and Forgotten Runiverse have made major moves to Ronin in the past year. Pixels arrived in 2023, onboarding millions to the Ronin ecosystem. Forgotten Runiverse joined 8 months later, combining RPG depth with NFT ownership.
Now, they're not just sharing a token—they're sharing strategy.
"We're focusing on the fundamentals: building a durable game with a sustainable economy that supports the successful launch of $XP, and the insights we gain from integrating $PIXEL will help us achieve this goal," added Bierwith.
For Pixels, the collab is about learning. Data from this cross-game event could shape how they build and tweak the upcoming $XP economy.
"Partnering with Forgotten Runiverse allows us to dive deep into player behavior, optimize our P2E systems, and ultimately improve retention and engagement," said Barwikowski in an interview with Decrypt.
To mark the crossover, expect Runiverse-themed quests in Pixels and a special Runiverse avatar to drop before the official $PIXEL rollout inside Forgotten Runiverse.
This event is just the beginning. Barwikowski made it clear:
"The ultimate goal is to work together and bring web3 into the mainstream. At Pixels, we're committed to sharing our insights and tools to help other games scale and grow because collective progress helps us all in the long-term."
