My Neighbor Alice, the popular blockchain game introduced in 2021, has completed its migration from the BNB Chain. It has moved to the emerging Chromia network ahead of Chromia's mainnet launch. It was developed by Antler Interactive. My Neighbor Alice is an on-chain game, reminiscent of Web2 giants like Animal Crossing and Minecraft. It offers players diverse activities such as farming, fishing, and socializing in a vibrant environment. The game features an ALICE token minted on Ethereum and NFT land plots on BNB Chain, formerly Binance Smart Chain.

With the launch of Season 4 content, the developers have unveiled a bridge from BNB Chain to Chromia. Thus, allowing NFT owners to seamlessly transfer their assets to the new chain. This migration empowers players to create new Chromia NFTs within the game. Notably, players will not encounter gas fees on Chromia and are not required to sign transactions while engaging in gameplay.

Chromia has Features Not Available on Other Dapps

Chromia stands out as a "relational blockchain." This unique combination is designed to support robust applications. It caters for various domains, including business, entertainment, and gaming. 

The developers emphasize that Chromia's features align with the requirements of Web3 gaming. Thus, offering ownership of in-game items and an experience not available on existing dapp platforms. Alex Mizrahi, Chief Technical Officer, highlighted Chromia's suitability for Web3 gaming. He emphasized the desire of players to own the items they earn within the game world. This is while they seek a more user-friendly experience that traditional dapp platforms struggle to provide.

It's important to note that My Neighbor Alice is currently running on Chromia's "appnet." The appnet is a dedicated instance of the blockchain tailored for specific decentralized apps (dapps). The full Chromia mainnet launch is slated for 2024, as per a recent roadmap update. The appnet serves as a preview, showcasing how games and apps will operate on the Chromia technology.
