The time to grab a box of Artifacts for Worldshards is almost upon us. Here is all you need to know!

Worldshards Artifact NFT Mint Info

The first Artifact NFT mint for Worldshards opens on June 26th on Open Loot. This mint is exclusively for Weapon Artifact Boxes. Only 3500 Weapon Artifact Boxes are available, each one priced at $175.

Two thousand (2,000) of the boxes will be reserved for those on the whitelist. The whitelist round only lasts for one hour (or until all 2k sell), but each whitelisted user can purchase up to 10 boxes, so it may go very quickly.

Bookmark the sale page and get your funds ready if you plan on picking up one of these NFTs! The whitelist round opens at 2pm UTC and you won't want to be late!

Players won't be able to open these boxes until July 17th, but each box will hold three powerful Artifacts of random rarities that will help players craft powerful and valuable items.

What are Artifacts?

Artifacts in Worldshards are items used to expand the functionality of workbenches – specifically the workbenches that allow the crafting of equippable items such as weapons and armor. Players will place these Artifacts on their Islands, as long as they have an open Artifact slot (the number of slots vary with the rarity of the Island).

Workbenches with an Artifact attached can craft collectible items, equipment that can be bought and sold on Open Loot!

Collectible items will have unique characteristics and level-up bonuses, but they will also let players earn crypto tokens while adventuring! Artifact rarity determines the rarity cap for the crafted items.

Craft and Earn with Worldshards Game Economy

The Worldshards game economy will center around player crafted items. In order to craft ‘collectible’ items, players will need an Artifact, a workbench, and an open Artifact slot on their Island.

Place the Artifact and interact with the associated workbench to access a new Collection tab where players can craft tradeable items. All crafted collectible items are limited in production. Once all of a particular collectible item has been crafted, no more may be made!

Collectible items are sort of like NFTs, though I believe they will be limited to trading in the Open Loot ecosystem.

Crafting collectible items will take time, resources, and a new premium currency known as Gems. Gems are an in-game only currency, and will be available on the Open Loot Premium Currency marketplace. At the moment, there are no concrete plans to allow players to earn Gems in-game.

Players who want to earn tokens while playing will need collectible items. Equipping a collectible item allows the player to spend the item's Adventure Points when going to a wild island, giving them a blessing which allows for token drops. Drop chances are affected by the item's luck factor and the difficultly level of the adventure.

Players will also be able to upgrade these collectible items and recharge their Adventure points, as well as increasing their Luck value.

Having the play and earn game economy rely on player crafted items gives crafters in Worldshards great power, and great opportunities to craft and earn!
