Game7 DAO has officially launched the $G7 token for its gaming ecosystem. Next to the native gas token for the G7 Network, the same day of TGE also marked the opening of the $1m Citizen Pool and the start of staking.
On February 12th, $G7 went live on Arbitrum and Ethereum across a couple of centralized exchanges, including Bybit, KuCoin, Gate.io, MEXC, XT.com, and Haskey. It’s also available on decentralized exchange Camelot, and the web3 gaming ecosystem has its own bridge called the Relay Bridge that you can use to instantly move the token from one chain to another. For those who are eligible to claim the $G7 TGE airdrop, you will need to bridge your tokens to Arbitrum before sending them over to a supported CEX. More airdrops are coming in the future, but those will require you to stake at least 10k $G7 tokens to be eligible for participation while also doing certain activities.
The official links to relevant exchange pages and the bridge can be found in the official announcement on X. Learn more about the utility and supply distribution of this token by checking out the $G7 tokenomics.
The Game7 Citizen Pool is the ecosystem’s way of enabling revenue sharing with its gaming community. This gamified reward system is dependent on the success and growth of the ecosystem, with 80% of all revenue generated by the ecosystem said to go towards this pool.
What kind of ecosystem activities specifically contribute to generating revenue? Well, all gas fees generated on its own gaming network are included, and so are marketplace, DEX, and bridging fees. Partnership revenue from game publishing is also said to be included alongside 20% of all rewards from LootDrop campaigns. These are the activities specifically mentioned to contribute to ecosystem revenue, so 80% of all this is allocated to the staking pool to reward the community. There are “countless other value streams” alongside the ones mentioned however, with these other unnamed ones “yet to be unleashed”.
The starting allocation is already set to $1 million USDC, so there is potential for this pool to significantly increase if there is a good amount of activity on the network. The more active the ecosystem is, the more revenue is likely to go into it, leading to a bigger reward pool for the community to earn from. In 2024, around $1.25 million was distributed in rewards by working with various web3 gaming partners. Now with the pool actually live for the first time, perhaps we might see even bigger rewards this year. If the ecosystem can bring over high quality blockchain gaming experiences, then that should bode well for this gamified revshare mechanism.
If you want to take part in the Citizen Pool, your main way of doing so is by staking $G7 tokens. Staking will allow you to earn off-chain, non-transferrable rewards called Diamonds. You get 1 Diamond for each $G7 token staked every day. There are reward multipliers based on your Game7 Portal Level and staking duration.
Alternatively, you can get Diamonds through the Daily Diamond Box, which anyone can claim for free, making it possible to potentially get a piece of this prize pool without actually staking. Just make sure to log in and claim every day if you want get as many Diamonds as possible for free, because any unclaimed ones won’t be possible to claim later. There’s no way to buy Diamonds nor trade them as they’re locked to your account. In the future however, you might be able to transfer Diamonds over to certain partners.
With the Diamonds in-app currency, you can buy G7 Boxes, through which you actually unlock the value of this big ecosystem prize pool. Each G7 Box can contain up to $1000 USDC, or more Diamonds. There is only one box each day that contains $1000 USDC though. Over time, there might be other prizes included as well, such as special NFTs, $G7 tokens, game tokens from partners, and rewards from LootDrop campaigns.
Here are the current drop rates (subject to change):
Box Reward | Approx. Chance |
Diamonds | 29.99% |
$1-$25 | 69.92% |
$26-$99 | 0.05% |
$100-$250 | 0.02% |
$1000 | 1 per day |
How many Diamonds do you need to buy a G7 Box? Well, the price of one G7 Box actually changes every day depending on supply and demand from the previous day. Once you purchase this box, you will need to wait 12 hours before you can open it, but you can spend $G7 tokens if you want it to open straight away. Just like Diamonds, G7 Boxes are also bound to your account. They can’t be traded, transferred, nor sold.
