Forgotten Playland Plans to Add Player Progression and Profile Features for Season 1

The first season of free to play social party game Forgotten Playland will mark the introduction of a player progression and profile system, for which details have now been officially revealed ahead of release.

How Will the Player Progression System in Forgotten Playland Work?

In Season 1 of this Beam-powered web3 game, developer Duckland Games and publisher Vermillion Studios will look to keep players engaged by adding player progression in the form of a linear leveling system. For this upcoming season, you will have the opportunity to level up your way through 60 levels by winning matches in the casual game mode, as well as by completing daily and weekly quests. Another way to earn experience points will be through a newly teased party game mode referred to as “PlushKyn Battle”. Based on the teaser description in a Discord announcement near the end of last month, it looks like PlushKyn Battle will be some kind of battle royale mode where the last player standing wins the match. The number of XP you get from these casual games and battles will vary based on your final position at the end of the match.

Leveling up will let you unlock rewards such as cosmetics, customized profile banners, frames, avatars, titles, emotes, stickers, and more.

That being said, the new progression system ties in directly with the upcoming new Player Profile feature.

How Forgotten Playland Player Profiles Work

By leveling up throughout the season, you’re unlocking a variety of rewards that you can use for the new Player Profile feature. This means that the more you play this web3 game, the more opportunities you will have to customize your profile, in turn giving you more ways to show off the fruit of your grind to other players, as everyone in a match will be able to see what your stylish profile looks like.

Next to showing off with cosmetics, the profile feature will also let you easily track various different stats such as your time played, the number of XP you have, your win ratio, the amount of matches you’ve played, and more. Overall, this means that some of the info that you’ll be able to find on player profiles includes the following:

• Level – See what level you’re at, how much total XP you got, and how much more you need to level up.
• Avatar – Your profile picture, of which there will be many different ones to choose from.
• Avatar frame – The customizable border around the avatar.
• Title – Let’s you display your achievement under your username on a banner by adding a title such as “Tournament Winner”.
• Banner – This will be the customizable part next to your avatar that will display your username and title and be visible for all to see in pre and post-match screens, but also during the matches themselves.
• Stats – Includes info such as time played, matches played, win ratio, total XP, and more.

According to the official announcement, the profile section will make a distinction between items that can be bought from the store, and items that can only be earned. This means that there will be banners and avatars you can buy from the in-game shop, but there will also be special banners and avatars only some can get when winning a tournament, encouraging players to compete for those cosmetics for more bragging rights.

Bonus Rewards System

Alongside the player progression system and player profile features that the team plans to introduce with plenty of rewards to earn in “unique ways” for an engaging blockchain gaming experience, they’ve also teased that there will be a bonus rewards system to let you earn even more prizes. Details on this system have not yet been revealed at the time of writing. A play to airdrop campaign was teased to be coming to the game shortly after the features were announced though, and given the mysterious "Fluffy Points” that the team has been vaguely mentioning across Discord and Twitter/X as of recent late, I won't be surprised if the bonus rewards system has something to do with playing to earn points that can be redeemed for $FP tokens and/or other unique prizes.
