Echelon Commits $3M in Prizes for Parallel Prime League Seasons 2 and 3

Echelon will support Seasons 2 and 3 of Parallel Prime League with a total of $3 million in prizes, with $1 million going towards Season 2 of this rebranded competitive league while introducing 2 new formats and enabling local tournament organizers to run sanctioned events.
Echelon Commits $3M in Prizes for Parallel Prime League Seasons 2 and 3

Blockchain gaming ecosystem Echelon has announced that they are committing a stunning $3 million in prizes for the upcoming Seasons 2 and 3 of Parallel Prime League, the competitive scene of blockchain card game Parallel TCG.

How Is Echelon Distributing $3M Worth of Prizes in Seasons 2 and 3 of Parallel Prime League?

For these seasons, Echelon is allocating a $1 million prize pool for Season 2, and a $2 million prize pool for Season 3. As such, the league is becoming bigger than ever before, as the first season came with a $500k prize pool for players to compete for through a series of global tournaments over the course of 8 months.

Specific details on how rewards will be distributed for the upcoming seasons are not available at the time of writing.

Why Is Echelon Committing $3M for Parallel Prime League?

Thanks to the league’s successful first season, which is said to have driven “intense competition” throughout the past year, the Echelon Prime Foundation would like to further support the competitive scene of their web3 gaming ecosystem’s flagship free to play title with significantly higher rewards. By delivering bigger prize pools for new seasons, the team hopes to grow the game’s esports community and attract experienced TCG players from other games to join while establishing “Parallel players as world-class competitors.”

“We’d like to extend a special thank you to tournament organizers 983 Media and tournament app developers and designers in their role in making Season 1 a success. As we prepare for the Parallel Prime Championship in Las Vegas, we're looking forward to upcoming seasons and our ongoing commitment to delivering a premier experience for players and fans in the digital TCG space.”

Next to upping the stakes with millions of dollars worth of rewards, the official announcement also revealed a rebranded identity, both visually and in name. The new name is now Parallel Prime League, with the top tournament for the league called the “Parallel Prime Championship”. The new visual identity is designed in partnership with Worship Studio, while the design is said to be inspired by “the Sanctuary flagship” but also by the idea of “reaching new heights,” representing the foundation’s commitment to achieving their ambitions for this growing league.

Before the second season begins, the Parallel Prime Championship is set to take place at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas from February 28th to March 2nd, with $250k in prizes up for grabs for the best competitors.

What’s New in Parallel Prime League Season 2?

Season 2 starts on March 6th and is set to introduce 2 new formats to improve the league structure: double elimination tournaments and round robin events.

Next to the addition of these new formats that could help deliver an even more engaging competitive experience, the new season will even bring in grassroots play. This means that outside tier one events, it will be possible for organizers to actually host local tournaments, running approved events to further help in establishing a larger esports scene for this sci-fi title.

Last year, YGG partnered with Parallel TCG to bring a $100k tournament to the YGG Play Summit in Manilla, the Philippines. The competition had 2 online qualifiers before the big local tournament took place during the week-long event in November 2024, so it’s great to see that the new league season will now further support such local endeavors. On what scale they will be remains to be seen, but enabling creation of local events looks like a good step forward in developing a vibrant competitive community.

In the meantime, it’s time to sharpen your skills before the high-stakes games in March begin. You can start playing Parallel TCG right now for free in open beta by downloading it through the game’s official website or on the Epic Games Store.
