Ethereum continues to anchor some of the most ambitious blockchain games in the industry, and with layer 2 networks like Immutable and Polygon expanding the ecosystem, the options are better than ever. Our team tested and sorted through the top play-to-earn games on Ethereum so you don't have to, and here's what made the cut.

5. Guild of Guardians

Guild of Guardians is a squad-based action RPG built on Immutable, available on Android and iOS. Players assemble teams of four Guardians and battle through dungeon encounters, with each Guardian defined by a Faction, Class, and Element that shapes team strategy. Roguelite-style buffs stack between floors, keeping each run feeling fresh, and an AFK system ensures progression continues between sessions. The game's newest feature, Guild Wars, launched in beta on April 8, 2026, introducing seven-day territory control battles between matched guilds. On the economy side, Guardians, equipment, and pets exist as NFTs on Immutable's zero gas fee marketplace. The GOG token handles NFT minting and transactions, while gGOG serves as a secondary in-game currency.

4. Illuvium

Illuvium is an interconnected franchise of crypto games set within a shared sci-fi universe, available on PC through the Epic Games Store. The experience spans four titles: Arena, a competitive auto-battler; Zero, a base-building companion game; Overworld, an exploration title currently being rebuilt as an MMO Lite experience targeting December 2026; and Beyond, a digital collectible game built around DISK packs. Every Illuvial has a class and affinity that creates a rock-paper-scissors dynamic at the heart of team composition. Assets captured or crafted in-game are delivered directly to the player's Immutable Passport wallet, and the IlluviDex marketplace facilitates trading. The most recent update, Beyond Wave 5, launched on March 12, 2026, marking the final wave of Set 1 with new Illuvitars, accessories, and Alpha and Mega DISK packs.

3. RollerCoin

RollerCoin is a browser-based mining simulator that supports Ethereum alongside Binance, Bitcoin, Polygon, and Solana. The core loop involves building a virtual mining data center and playing short skill-based mini-games to accumulate hash power, with block shares distributed across supported cryptocurrencies roughly every ten minutes based on contributed power. The Forge, which launched in February 2026, introduced recipe-based crafting for creating items, upgrading miners, and merging parts, while a Hamster companion system lets players send collectible pets on timed Expeditions for materials and rewards. The economy runs on RollerToken, a capped-supply token used for in-game purchases, alongside a seasonal currency tied to each progression track. On March 13, 2026, the team published Dev Diaries Volume 17 detailing a lootbox overhaul, a new Bonus Power feature, and an expanded Achievements system.

2. The Sandbox

The Sandbox is a community-driven virtual world built on Ethereum and Polygon, accessible on Windows, macOS, and directly in web browsers. Players explore, build, and interact inside a voxel-based world filled with user-generated experiences constructed on parcels of digital land. Two no-code tools drive the creative side: VoxEdit for 3D modeling and Game Maker for assembling assets into playable games, producing everything from Metroidvania-style adventures to tycoon management experiences. Season 7, which launched in February 2026, introduced browser-based access requiring no download or account, with over half of its 32 experiences coming from independent creators. The economy centers on SAND, an ERC-20 utility token; LAND NFTs representing plots in the 166,464-parcel world map; and ASSETS, voxel items minted as NFTs and listed on the in-game Marketplace. Most recently, on March 26, 2026, The Sandbox launched a playtest for Sandbox NEXT, a standalone mobile battle royale built on Unreal Engine with third-person PvP and interoperability across more than 56 branded NFT collections.

1. Parallel

Parallel is a science fiction trading card game on Ethereum, currently in Open Beta on PC via web client with mobile versions planned for 2026. Players build decks from five factions, each with distinct mechanics, and compete in strategic 1v1 matches featuring a seasonal ladder with placement matches and soft resets between seasons. Season 25, titled "Dark Secrets," delivered a major visual refresh with a new 3D playing field and updated card frames, while the competitive scene is building toward the 2026 Prime Championships through the organized Parallel League. Cards are NFTs on Ethereum featuring original 3D art across multiple rarities, tradeable on external marketplaces. The in-game economy includes the Glints currency system and a Terminals system that lets players refine shards into batteries to acquire NFT items. On April 11, 2026, the Haven expansion dropped with only 3,682 packs available, featuring anime-inspired Prime Variants and rare one-of-one Masterpiece cards.
