Skrice Studios has announced the official launch of the Ruby Marketplace on mobile devices for their Web3 strategy game, Heroes of Mavia.

Launch Details

On May 5th, 9:30 AM EST, the developers will begin rolling out a new version across Android and iOS devices featuring the highly-anticipated marketplace. At the same time, the first mint, the SuperMavia color scheme drop, will also go live. This single collection mint drop is only the beginning, as more mints of other collections are planned to take place as time goes on.

This first version of the marketplace will be available in-game on mobile devices only and will consist of Ruby trading. After a couple of collections drop on mobile, the Web marketplace will also go live, integrating the $MAVIA token.

According to the announcement, the studio’s goal for this first stage of the marketplace is to fix any potential issues while ensuring “operational security for all Ruby mechanics.” Once they’ve made sure the Ruby mechanics are secure and stable to use, they will then move on to the next stage, which involves releasing the Web marketplace.

Using the Marketplace

After updating to the latest version of the blockchain-backed base builder, you should see the marketplace icon light up red on the bottom right of the home screen. Tapping that icon will open the marketplace, consisting of various tabs to navigate to. For the first day though, the Explore screen will only include SuperMavia color scheme items, but over time new items will appear as more collections drop.

Trading on this marketplace using Ruby is said to be designed to be similar to popular NFT marketplaces such as OpenSea or Blur. This means that you can place bids on items as well as see the floor price of each item in Ruby, the item’s price history, holder count and more. An item can be used straight away after buying it. While this in-game version does all the pricing in Ruby, the upcoming Web marketplace will have an added orderbook in $MAVIA tokens as well, allowing players to trade their assets using the game’s native governance token.

Gas fees are said to be covered for free by the team when trading NFTs, but to help cover these costs, a small Sapphire fee is included. This Sapphire fee is not included for the first mint. There’s also a 5% Ruby trading fee for all trades, with the tokens gained from this fee said to be burned.

Hero Theme Mint

The first NFT mint is the “SuperMavian” hero color scheme, an exclusive collection of 36 unique items representing all of the troops and buildings included in the game. These are essentially skins that allow your army and structures to stand out in style.

Each item will have 500 copies up for grabs, with each NFT priced at 1000 Ruby, “providing a fair and accessible way for our community to participate in this exciting event.”

Once you buy a SuperMavian Color Scheme Legendary Item, you can equip it straight away and see the change on the troop or building happen live in-game.

This mint takes place within the game only, with the NFTs available on a first come, first serve basis.

These NFTs are minted on the Base chain and can be viewed on-chain by copying your wallet address from the Settings menu and heading to a blockchain explorer for Coinbase’s L2 network.
