Arc8, a prominent gaming platform, is undergoing a significant transformation in its tokenomics strategy. This is with the transition of GMEE from Polygon to Ethereum. Alongside this shift, several adjustments are being made to the app, including the removal of custodial wallets. Here’s a comprehensive guide for all Arc8 enthusiasts to navigate through these changes seamlessly.

It's crucial to initiate the transfer of these tokens to an external wallet of their choice. This is for long-time players who have accumulated GMEE tokens in their Arc8 Wallet. The Arc8 Wallet, being a custodial on-chain wallet, will no longer be part of the Arc8 experience. Players are advised to create and link an external wallet, with MetaMask being recommended for its simplicity. Once done, tokens can be withdrawn from Arc8 website to the personal wallet, ensuring a seamless transition of funds.

Newer players need not worry about these changes, as the Arc8 Wallet is no longer part of the new user registration process. They can continue enjoying Arc8’s rewards without the need for an in-app custodial wallet or wallet pairing. This is except when minting Beast NFTs or withdrawing token rewards.

Dynamics of The Transition

During this transition period, GMEE will be supported on Polygon until at least the end of February 2024. However, fraudulent sites claiming to offer this service have surfaced, emphasizing the importance of using official links provided by Arc8. Additionally, players can utilize GMEE for purchases in the Arc8 Shop on both the web and mobile app until the end of February 2024.

There are players with GMEE stored in Arc8 Pay below the minimum withdrawal amount. Special tournaments offering MATIC rewards will be organized, providing an alternative use for these tokens. Also, tournaments with entry fees in Arc8 GEMS will be available for those who have withdrawn all GMEE into their external wallet.

NFTs and Partner Rewards to Remain on Polygon Network

Beast NFTs and partner rewards will remain on the Polygon network, unaffected by the transition. Players owning Beast NFTs can continue minting them as usual. Their rewards from partner events will be deposited directly into Arc8 Pay for withdrawal.

While Lucky Events in Arc8 currently do not offer token rewards, they will make a return soon as part of the transition process. Arc8 will continue supporting Wallet Connect for collecting partner rewards.
