Developer GAMEE has published a post explaining the utilities behind Beast NFTs for their blockchain gaming platform, Arc8.
A Beast NFT is your very own pet in the free-to-play mobile gaming platform. It starts out initially as an egg, which you have to nurture by giving it food, which you earn by winning in various arcade games. Over time, this egg turns into a colorful creature referred to as a Beastie. If you continue growing your pet, eventually you will manage to get it to reach the maximum possible level. Once you do, you have the option to mint it into a Beast NFT, for free.
By transforming your Beastie into an NFT, you’ll unlock 3 in-app utilities that include a Luck Mining Bonus, GameFest Bonus, and Daily Energy.
A new feature just recently came out: Luck. Both Beasts and Beasties come with a Luck multiplier that can be increased by further growing your pet. This means that if you have an idling Beast NFT or Beastie not being used for playing games, you can send them to mine Luck. The amount mined will vary depending on the multiplier your pet has. This mined Lucky currency can be used to take part in Lucky Events, which are random draws through which you can earn various rewards such as coins, food, tokens, and Energy.
The second utility is the GameFest Bonus. In November, GAMEE is launching the Arc8 GameFest with a prize pool of $120k. According to the official post, “half of the prize pool is divided equally among the top 20% of players” each day, while the other half is “distributed to the winners based on their Beasts’ multiplier (known as the “Arc8 League Bonus” in-app).” This means that the more Beast NFTs you have, the bigger share of the reward pool you could get, with the developers counting 10 of the strongest Beasts you got.
Last but not least, each Beast comes with a different amount of Energy that you need in order to play competitive matches, that is, Streaks. Some Beasts have a minimum of 3, while others have an Energy level of 8. By having multiple of these NFTs, you can play Streaks more often by switching to a different Beast when the current one you use runs out of Energy for the day.
In the future, more new use cases may arrive for these creatures as the Animoca Brands-owned gaming platform continues to grow.
