Play To Earn is a new concept for video games in which players can earn cryptocurrencies and/or NFTs through their in-game successes.

What is a Gaming Cryptocurrency?

A gaming cryptocurrency is used in video games to reward players for certain achievements and/or to acquire certain things in the game. Most gaming cryptocurrencies are made for a specific game or pool of games by the same development team/studio.

What is a Non Fungible Token (NFT)?

A Non Fungible Token can be used to represent ownership of unique digital items. Each token has individual attributes. This makes it possible to tokenize game items and enable real world value economies. Game items can be freely bought, sold and traded on NFT marketplaces outside of the game or peer-to-peer in exchange for cryptocurrencies.

What is a Metaverse - Virtual World?

A Metaverse (also called Virtual World) is a Blockchain Game that opens up a world that can be wholly owned by its players. In these Virtual Worlds, players can own land in the form of NFTs and build any kind of buildings on it. Land in Virtual Worlds comes with a limited supply, which makes it very rare. Players who do not own land can still visit other people's land and interact with them and their buildings.

What is the difference between Crypto Game, NFT Game, and Blockchain Game?

Crypto Game is a video game that uses cryptocurrency.
NFT Game is a video game that uses NFTs.
Blockchain Game is a superordinate term that describes a video game that uses at least one of the two.

Why aren't you listing game X?

We are always actively adding more Blockchain Games to PlayToEarn. Listing Blockchain Games is largely a manual process that takes time and resources to ensure the accuracy of our data. If a game is not on our site, it is either already on our backlog to be added, or a request for it has not been submitted yet.

Many Blockchain Games have been called a scam at some point in their lifetime. We provide the best tools for you to make your own conclusions.
