After teasing their upcoming new map, the Trinity WAIF Military Complex, Nemesis Studios, the developers of blockchain FPS Nemesis Downfall are now back with details on the in-game rewards distribution system.

How Does the Distribution Model Work?

The team plans to distribute 5 billion $ND tokens, a quarter of the total supply, as in-game rewards, and while the model hasn’t completely been finalized, the developers can reveal a couple of main points that they are considering on implementing.

One of the pieces of this potential model includes having a fixed number of rewards every hour in order to avoid quickly depleting all the reserves. Another point being discussed is a vault that would track the changes in the number of players per hour, meaning that it would “act to smooth rewards distribution over time, and / or absorb peak played hours while not depriving players of rewards.” The announcement also mentions that they are putting on “a very strong emphasis on finding a system that does not overflow the supply,” meaning they will try to make sure the model doesn’t punish token holders. To remedy this, they are working on various in-game economy and token use cases, as previously revealed when they shared details on the $ND token economy.

Next to these considerations, there are also plans to distribute rewards in such a way so as to reward anyone, not just the best players. This means that we might get to see all players in a match earn some $ND tokens, with the top 3 players getting a share of half of the reward pool allocated for that match.

The rewards will actually be given out through an in-game currency that will be possible to swap to $ND at a 1:1 ratio.

Alpha Launch Event

The developers are planning on holding an event for the alpha launch of the Web3 title in order to reward early players, though the distribution model itself won’t be completely ready for this occasion. This event will include fixed rewards for a limited time, that is, from the alpha launch until the end of this year, each match will feature a fixed number of allocated tokens. Specific details will be available on launch day. Info on when the launch will take place does not seem to be available at the time of writing.
