Kuroro has revealed that the next season of its PvP title, Kuroro Beast Brawl, will officially launch later this August. While an exact date has yet to be shared, the team recently published a detailed preview of what players can expect in the upcoming season. This time, the focus is on Risk to Earn mechanics that bring more value to competitive gameplay.
Set across browser, mobile PWA, and Telegram, Beast Brawl is designed to be cross-platform from the ground up. That means players can battle each other regardless of which device they're on, and the upcoming season continues that approach while adding new systems that link gameplay progression more closely to spending, strategy, and skill.
Paid Competitions and Real Money Wagering Coming to Kuroro Brawl
The team confirmed that Beast Brawl's new season will introduce paid competition modes where 80% of all revenue will be routed directly into the Pro Leaderboard prize pool. The remaining 20% presumably supports the team or operations, though no specific breakdown was shared beyond the 80% figure.
Apart from the new leaderboard structure, players will get to place real money wagers in an upcoming game mode. Exact details on how these wagers will work were not disclosed, but the team stated that this real-money layer may also involve other mechanics or features in the future. A full game guide is expected to follow soon.
This Risk to Earn model is at the core of the new season and appears to be built around performance-based earnings. Instead of the usual win-to-earn mechanics, players will need to invest Shards, energy, or real money into the system and then climb ranks to see returns.
Shards, Gacha, and Energy: Progression Systems Explained
Every player will begin the new Brawl season with 5 units of energy. One energy is consumed each time a match is played, which places a natural limit on the number of battles per session. But Pro Brawlers will receive extra daily energy, giving them more opportunities to compete and earn.
By playing matches, players earn Shards, the game's soft currency. Winning games awards more Shards, and extra Shards can be purchased directly through paid bundles. Once again, 80% of all spending on Shards is funneled back into the Pro Leaderboard, keeping the game's economy focused on active competition.
These Shards are used in the Beast Gacha, a new progression system where every roll unlocks a new Beast. These Gacha Beasts begin at level 1 and come with base Skill Points. But they are not NFTs and do not persist beyond the current season. Players will need to earn or reroll them again next season.
There's also a Beast Merge system in place. If you unlock the same Beast multiple times via Gacha, that Beast's Merge level increases, unlocking stat boosts or other progression perks. The team says this feature is designed to create more diversity in team compositions and prevent players from simply choosing the current meta Beasts every time.
For NFT holders, the system includes some advantages. Any player who owns an NFT version of a Beast will automatically unlock a Merge level 1 version of that Beast when the new season begins. This speeds up the process for collectors and gives extra value to holding onchain assets within the Kuroro ecosystem.
Referral Leaderboard and Token-Based Rewards
The upcoming season will also continue the platform's referral program. A dedicated Referral Leaderboard tied to 1% of the total token supply is still active and will keep accumulating rewards during this Brawl season.
Qualified referrals (defined as players who actively engage in the game) will generate revenue share for the referrer. You'll receive a percentage of the purchases made by users you brought into the game. The team says they plan to soon make this leaderboard more transparent by sharing it publicly.
Addressing Season 1 Rewards and Backlogged Promises
Before the new Brawl season kicks off, the team has confirmed that they will address outstanding issues from earlier phases of the project. These include correcting the reward allocations for the top performers of Beast Brawl Season 1, which will now see their prize amounts increased.
Players with qualifying referrals will also receive an Armored Beast NFT, another reward that had not yet been delivered. Meanwhile, those who took part in Kuroro Wilds with VIP status will see their $KURO token allocations increased, with the team stating they plan to significantly boost the amount granted to all Wilds VIP users.
Another update involves buybacks. The dev team announced plans to periodically purchase Origin and Gen2 Beasts from the open market using funds from the project. These NFTs will either be stored long-term or burned. Importantly, the team will not pre-announce these buybacks but will reveal them only after they occur.
New Beast Brawl Season Follows Busy Year for Ecosystem
This announcement arrives after a busy few months for the Kuroro Beasts ecosystem. Earlier this year, the team launched the Alpha version of Kuroro Wilds on February 5 as part of "The Arrival" play to airdrop event. The campaign distributed over 10 million $KURO tokens to active players via daily battles and story missions.
Following that success, a second season for Wilds Alpha was scheduled for March but ultimately suspended. The team cited ongoing issues with the game engine and chose to abandon the Alpha codebase entirely to focus on Wilds Beta, which is still in development.
Other recent updates have included a migration of NFTs to Ronin, staking support for Origin Beasts, and a one-day Beast Brawl Betting Event, which took place in June to test the wagering system.
All of these efforts are laying the groundwork for a wider rollout of the $KURO token, which is still expected to launch later in 2025.
What's Coming Next?
Beyond the Beast Brawl season launch, the team also teased upcoming news tied to Kuroro Wilds, new partnerships, and the long-awaited Kuroro Ancients. The Token Generation Event (TGE) for $KURO remains on track for 2025 and may include surprise announcements, according to the team's latest post.
A new Brawl Game Guide and final date are expected to be shared in the coming days.
With the Risk to Earn model front and center, Beast Brawl is taking a more competitive, reward-focused approach for its August season. With Shards, Beast Gacha, NFT tie-ins, and paid leaderboards, the new structure creates a tighter link between the time players invest and the rewards they take home.
