Thought Farm, an Australian indie gaming studio, has officially announced that their web3 farming game Sunflower Land is coming over to the Ronin Network ahead of the launch of the $FLOWER token. There are also various other new additions part of the team’s 2025 plans, all of which seem to tie in with the upcoming new cryptocurrency.
What Is Sunflower Land Bringing to the Ronin Community?
In celebration of Ronin’s open network launch, Sunflower Land is officially adding support for the popular gaming chain, enabling its community to sign up and start playing this relaxing free to play browser-based title.
This doesn’t mean that the game is abandoning its Polygon home. It’s not a migration, but merely a new addition that gives new players another chain to choose from. By making the game multi-chain, the web3 title becomes even more accessible to a wider gaming audience.
Not only is support for the chain getting added, but the launch is also being celebrated by airdropping a limited edition NFT on the network, according to the official announcement. The initial announcement was followed up by another post that seems to reveal the limited edition assets as being 100 Bronze Starter NFTs for new players. To have a chance of getting them, you’ll want to leave your Ronin address in the replies of that new X post as soon as you can.
Going multi-chain is not the only plan the developers have in store for their cute title this year. In the months ahead, we could possibly see the launch of a new token: $FLOWER.
What Is $FLOWER?
$FLOWER is the game’s upcoming new native ERC20 token planned to launch in April 2025 to enable multi-chain gaming and a number of other upcoming cool features.
In fact, this token will be used for everything in this on-chain title. According to the official thread, you will need the token for unlocking co-op equipment and empire upgrades, as well as for using it to make in-game purchases of Gems, which you need for Boosts, Auctions, and VIP. This will also be the exclusive token for the upcoming launch of a utility NFT. Last but not least, the release of this token will remove the need for paying any transaction gas fees, meaning that you won’t need to use any $MATIC anymore. This will make $FLOWER the primary currency all players will use in the game, and is in fact planned to be used for future web3 games part of this IP’s ecosystem.

What happens to $SFL? Well, migration! $FLOWER is replacing $SFL, and anyone who owns the $SFL token will have the opportunity to exchange their holdings to the new token at a 1:1 rate. All $SFL earned in-game up until April is eligible, so there’s no need to worry about playing and earning the token throughout this time. You can start earning $SFL right now by trading resources at the in-game marketplace, and by completing various deliveries and bounties.
The team states that they aren’t getting any allocation of $FLOWER, intending the fixed supply to be 100% community-based instead. It won’t have an unlimited supply like $SFL does. You can look forward to the token’s initial debut taking place on the Base network. Over time, depending on “growth opportunities,” we could see the token make its way to other blockchains as well, including Ronin, Solana, TON, and Arbitrum. What’s New in Sunflower Land’s 2025 Roadmap?
Alongside the new chain support and the upcoming token launch, the 2025 roadmap for Sunflower Land also reveals a variety of other plans that are related to $FLOWER.
Some of the plans listed in the roadmap include the launch of co-op farming, Pet NFTs, and engaging questlines. No specific timeframes for these are available, but you can look forward to seeing them go live at some point throughout 2025.
With co-op farming, the team wants to lean into the social side of web3 gaming and allow players to visit each other’s farms and work together on them. By doing so, the aim is to encourage players to be creative with the design of their farms while highlighting whale farms and introducing a way to burn $FLOWER tokens. Specifically, you will be able to spend $FLOWER on exclusive farming equipment and upgrades that seem to be designed to attract other players to use your farm. If you can get a good number of visitors, it looks like you will be rewarded with in-game tokens.

Pet NFTs will be utility collectibles acquired exclusively at Auctions using the $FLOWER token, burning tokens in the process. These loyal companions will unlock various perks and boosts depending on the level they’re at. You will need to feed them to level them up, and visitors will also have the option to feed them too.
This will represent the team’s 2nd NFT launch, with 1000 unique NFT pets set to be up for grabs for whales, while a bigger supply of weaker SFT pets will be available in-game for all players looking to improve their farms.
This year, the developers would like to replace repetitive tasks with engaging questlines that add in better storytelling, new NPC interactions, and dynamic goals to complete. The team plans on running a Quest Campaign in which players can earn tokens as a way to celebrate the new token launch.
There are more plans included in the 2025 roadmap, including native Telegram integration and the release of a mini-game for the popular messaging app. Check out the team’s 2025 strategy to learn more.
