StarHeroes is making strides in the Web3 gaming industry with the introduction of its innovative Play-to-Burn mechanism. As the first Web3 game to adopt this deflationary strategy, StarHeroes is set to revolutionize how token economies operate in the gaming world.
Season One Airdrop Campaign
The ongoing Season One Airdrop Campaign has been a tremendous success, showcasing the power of the Play-to-Airdrop model. The campaign has led to a constant daily influx of new players, a retention rate 40% higher than top Web2 games, and daily all-time highs in G-bucks revenue. These achievements have paved the way for a significant transition in the StarHeroes Universe.
The Deflationary Token Model
With the Season One Airdrop Campaign nearing its end, StarHeroes is ready to shift from an inflationary to a deflationary token economy. The Play-to-Burn mechanism is central to this transition, marking the last airdrop campaign for the game. Moving forward, the focus will be on burning tokens, buybacks, and reducing the total supply to enhance the value of $STAR tokens.
The Play-to-Burn mechanism aims to tackle token dilution by burning tokens based on player activity. The more games played each week, the more STAR tokens are burned. These tokens are sourced from the DAO Warchest pool (34.5% of the total supply) and the Decentralized User Acquisition pool (10% of the total supply), making up to 40% of the total supply eligible for burning.
Tracking and Impact
Players will be able to track the number of games played and tokens burned through a dashboard similar to Ethereum’s ultrasound.money. The dashboard will be live in approximately two weeks and will include retrospective data from Season One. Based on current in-game activity, up to 10% of tokens could be burned in Season One alone, a figure significantly higher than the 1.5% distributed during the airdrop.
Weekly Token Burns
Token burning will occur weekly over the next three seasons, each lasting eight weeks. Up to 10% of tokens could be burned per season, equating to 0.8% of the total supply burned in a single week. This highly deflationary approach will significantly reduce the token’s Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV), enhancing its attractiveness to investors.
Hero Duty App
In addition to Play-to-Burn, the Hero Duty App provides another avenue for burning tokens. Tokens spent by players in the Hero Duty App are removed from circulation and irrevocably burned. Currently, over 600,000 tokens are slated for burning from the Duty App.
