The studio developing esports space shooter StarHeroes has officially launched gamified staking for the $STAR token on Arbitrum, with stakers said to gain an important advantage once the blockchain title publicly releases later this month.

Staking Pool Details

Launched on April 4th at 4 PM UTC, holders of $STAR can now participate in gamified staking in order to not only earn more tokens, but also points called StarForce. The longer and more tokens you stake, the higher amount of StarForce you’ll get. If you stake in the 15-day Nebula Pool, which has a 1x StarForce multiplier, then staking 100 tokens will award you with a weekly 100 points.

If you’re one of the players who has been allocated airdrop tokens, then participating in staking will allow you to unlock the remaining 50% of tokens, according to the announcement.

There are 4 staking pools you can lock your tokens in: Nebula Pool, Comet Pool, Galaxy Pool and Supernova Pool. The details for each are as follows:

  • Nebula Pool: 3% APY, 1x StarForce multiplier and a 15-day unbounding period.
  • Comet Pool: 4% APY, 2x StarForce multiplier and a 45-day unbounding period.
  • Galaxy Pool: 5.5% APY, 3x StarForce multiplier and a 90-day unbounding period.
  • Supernova Pool: 8% APY, 6x StarForce multiplier and a 180-day unbounding period.

Users who stake in the first 24 hours from launch will have their StarForce multiplier amplified by 10x.

If you want to unstake, you are initiating an ‘unbounding’ process. Doing this before the period ends will mean paying a certain burn fee, which linearly decreases to 0 over time. The fees for unstaking at the beginning for each pool include the following: 6% fee for Nebula Pool, 18% fee for Comet Pool, 36% fee for Galaxy Pool and 72% fee for the Supernova Pool.

What Is StarForce?

StarForce are ecosystem points rewarded weekly in the available staking pools. Having plenty of them is said to provide you with an advantage in the game once it publicly launches.

Specifically, StarForce points provide you with in-game benefits that include boosting Hero NFT progression with bonus experience points while increasing your in-game leaderboard position with extra HeroScore points for Public Access Season 1 for a chance at gaining higher $STAR rewards. Last but not least, these points are also said to “facilitate unlocking the remaining 50% of your $STAR Airdrop from StarHeroes Beta Season 2.”
