Following the end of the Enchanted Guild Wars event, Mon Studios has announced the official mobile launch of Spellborne, allowing anyone to easily hop in and play and earn on the go on Android and iOS.

What Is Spellborne?

Spellborne is a free to play monster-catching MMORPG. Set in a Pokémon-inspired top down 2D world, players collect numerous different monsters called Mons to use in old-school turn-based battles against other Mons while exploring the world of Celestia and completing various story-driven quests as one of 3 distinct hunters. Outside of forming monster squads and engaging in battles, players can also do relaxing activities such as farming, mining, and fishing. Upgrade your stats, challenge your friends in head-to-head battles and participate in PvP tournaments and monthly events to catch rare creatures in limited supply.

The game can be played on PC via web browsers and is planned to eventually launch in early access on the Epic Games Store for both Windows and Mac. Here’s how you can play on mobile.

How to Play Spellborne on Mobile

Spellborne can now officially be played on Android and iOS by downloading it for free on the Google Play Store or App Store respectively. While the Android version was previously already available through the store, iOS users had to resort to using the Safari browser to play instead. Now, any mobile gamer can easily download and enjoy the game across both platforms in an accessible manner. Here are the links:

Fishing Update Is Live + Gold Frenzy in Collab with Fishing Frenzy

Right before official mobile launch was announced, the studio released a new update to introduce fishing to the web3 game early this month.

When you don’t feel like catching Mons, you can now go catch fish instead at any body of water in the game. Simply bring your rod and get reeling to start successfully catching various types of fish through a simple mini-game where you have to fill up the catch bar by moving the hook up and down to make sure it stays on the fish. There are different baits you can use for varied effects, and every time you do catch a fish, you get fishing XP to level up your fishing skill level. As you level up your fishing skill level, you get to unlock stronger types of species that are more challenging to catch. The more fishing XP you get however, the better chance you have of attaining better and rarer rewards. Among the possible rewards are rare Ambers, which are high-tier crafting ingredients that were recently added alongside a few other new items to enable the crafting of Prismatic Crystals and Anklets.

Now that fishing is actually included in the game, players will no longer be able to find fish in trash bins. The profession also features a passive bonus that scales as you level up your fishing skill level, with the bonus said to allow levels to give “some kind of benefit” when they don’t unlock new fish types.

To fittingly commemorate the release of this relaxing new feature, Mon Studios has kicked off the Gold Frenzy event in collaboration with Ronin-powered cozy fishing RPG, Fishing Frenzy.

Gold Frenzy kicked off on July 4 as a 30-day celebratory event during which players can enjoy bonus gold perks. This means that there is a 25% chance of earning a gold nugget, an in-game currency, as a bonus reward when catching fish. If you’re a Fishing Frenzy Founders Pass NFT holder, you then have a 50% chance instead. Holders can use the delegate feature in the game’s settings to connect their wallet holding the NFT to the Spellborne game account. Anyone who doesn’t own a Founders Pass NFT can find it on the Ronin Market for the current floor price of 296 $RON tokens. It’s not clear if there was a snapshot taken or if anyone can gain the 50% benefit by becoming a holder during the event. In any case, the general utility of this NFT includes an upcoming airdrop, access to exclusive cosmetics, future rewards in Fishing Frenzy, future rewards in the Uncharted gaming ecosystem, as well as potential access to various special perks and events.

This collab goes both ways though, so if you’re a Spellborne Apartment NFT holder, you will be rewarded with 1 Sushi Chest and 1 Golden Chest inside Fishing Frenzy. Holders can claim this special gift by logging in to the browser-based title and heading to the Quests tab to link the wallet holding the asset, with only one claim per wallet available. The snapshot for this was already taken though, so buying an Apartment NFT now will not qualify you for this gift. If you’re interested in other benefits though, Apartment NFTs can be found on OpenSea on the Ethereum network for the floor price of 0.0219 ETH, and owning one gives you customizable in-game land and perks that include an airdrop of the upcoming $BORNE token, whitelists for the developer’s future mints, future ability to create PvP tournaments, and access to creating in-game guilds.

How to Play and Earn in Spellborne

In Spellborne, players can play and earn by collecting tradable Mons through gameplay. These collectible pets can then be traded as part of the Monsters NFT collection on Avalanche through OpenSea.

Next to earning NFT rewards, players can also play to airdrop $BORNE during Spellborne Season 2. This is done by collecting 3 different types of airdrop points: gameplay points, store points, and creator points. Gameplay points can be earned by completing daily missions, doing story quests, catching monsters, and by competing in PvP leagues. Store points are awarded when buying season passes and chests from the in-game store, while creator points are given to players who create content about the web3 game on X while tagging the game’s official account and using #spellbornecreate in the post. If they like your post, you get points.
