Blockchain gaming studio Revolve Games is back with their second development log, in which they reveal various improvements that have recently made their way to card battle game Bones and Blade, while sharing the latest development progress on co-op shooter Pylon Defense.
Bones and Blade Update Details
This newest update is focused on improving the game’s stability through various bug fixes, while making gameplay more accessible and fairer. One of the ways in which the latest update makes things fairer for everyone is the introduction of an auto-play penalty system. This system is designed to kick players if auto-played 3 times in a row, and you’ll know when it happens as you will get a message in the main menu explaining what happened. The game now limits players to single instances, so you can’t have multiple instances of the game open at the same time. The health display issue at Chapter 1 has been fixed, and so have various other bugs, while XP now increases at a faster rate to enable smoother progression. The victory logic has been remade so that it no longer rewards players who quit early, while those who leave late get a lower reward than before.
Pylon Defense Development Updates
The studio has revealed that they’ve expanded the development team with talented developers who have previously worked for Bethesda and Blizzard. Specifically, the devlog states that the company has hired 2 Blizzard artists who have worked on Overwatch, and since the upcoming Web3 title is visually similar to Blizzard’s well-known shooter, the team says that “we see this as a win and a strategic move to nail down the style we are working to achieve.”
Next to growing the team, the studio has made progress on character development, transforming the main character Brock with better modeling and texturing thanks to their Substance pipeline, while stating that these improvements are currently being applied to NPC characters as well.

An in-game currency and shop system is also in the works, where players will be able to spend energy currency that is earned through gameplay on customization items, weapons and fortifications. It’s also been revealed that the skill tree, an important aspect of the game, is almost ready to be officially shown, and the team is “eager for you to see how it will elevate your tactical options and playstyle customization.”
Aside from working on the main game, the developers are also creating minigames, and one of which they’ve been recently working on is the fishing minigame. Minigames will provide rewards that are set to be of good use for the main game.
Gunplay elements, which are said to be inspired by Gears of War, have also been part of the team’s focus lately, with the developers looking “not just to replicate but to innovate, ensuring our shooting mechanics stand out with their own identity.” They’ve been working on refining how weapons work, while enhancing feedback from enemy encounters and giving “special attention” to the cover system.
