Ragnarok Games has announced the start of Season 2 for BloodLoop, giving players 6 weekly events to play to earn in until around mid-September.
What Is BloodLoop?
BloodLoop is a free to play, third-person hero shooter backed by Avalanche and Beam (formerly Merit Circle). Choose a hero from one of 4 different factions and put their distinct special abilities to use across 3 game modes: Energy War, Team Deathmatch, and Free for All. Energy War is a tactical 5v5 game mode in which the goal is to take control of Exotic Matter nodes and drain the resources of the enemy side to claim victory. Team Deathmatch is all about working together to reach a certain number of kills within a time limit. When you’re feeling like playing as a lone wolf, dive into Free for All and showcase your solo skills in action-packed 10-player matches.
This web3 game raised $4 million in a seed funding round in March 2024 and is currently available in an early access phase that started off this year on June 23 with a $15k airdrop event. The studio plans on keeping the game in early access for at least 6 months, according to the FAQ section of the official store page. You can download it for free on the Epic Games Store and give the PvP-focused title a try before deciding on whether to pay a small amount to take part in the new season.
What’s New in BloodLoop Season 2?
Season 2 of BloodLoop is a special summer season and a new opportunity for players to play and earn $BLS tokens by competing in weekly events.
While the first season rewarded the highest-ranked players over the course of a certain time period, this season is split into a total of 6 weekly events instead, giving players more opportunities to win rewards. For these weekly events, there is a total prize pool of $6k worth of token rewards, meaning each week comes with a $1k prize pool. Though it’s not explicitly stated how rewards are distributed, they very likely should be in the form of the game’s $BLS token, just like the past season.
Each week, the top 10 players will share a $1k prize pool, with rewards distributed proportionally based on placement and number of points earned. Players can earn points by playing game modes but also by crafting and refining in-game. The activities are however limited to certain time periods. From Monday to Friday, players can earn Crafting and Refining points, while from Friday to Sunday is when you can rack up points through the available game modes, with game mode rotation said to continue normally as usual. For this first week, crafting and refining points count from Wednesday to Friday, and will then count normally from Monday to Friday for next week.
The start of the season was announced on August 13, so you can start collecting points from crafting right away, according to a Discord announcement. This competitive weekly period is set to last until the 3rd week of September.
Next to all these reward-related details, the official Discord announcement also mentions the addition of a new feature for this season: XP Boosters. If you want increased rewards for a limited time or for a certain set of matches, you can now buy XP Boosters from the game’s shop using $BLS tokens.
After this season is over, the developers plan on returning to the standard season format with Patch 0.7.0 in late September. That one is slated to launch during this year’s Tokyo Game Show. In the meantime, here is how you can join in and start competing for weekly rewards from the current season.

How to Play to Earn in BloodLoop Season 2
To play to earn in Season 2 of BloodLoop, you need to buy a $5 Season Pass as an entry ticket for the $1k weekly events. You can find the Season Pass in the in-game shop, and you can purchase it using $5 worth of $BLS tokens.
For new players, get started by downloading BloodLoop on the Epic Games Store. The game is only available on Windows PCs and it runs on its own Avalanche-powered Layer 1 network, and you don’t need to connect an external wallet to access the game, as you can choose to have an in-game wallet created for you. You will however need to deposit $BLS tokens into the game in order to buy the $5 Season Pass. This can be done by logging in to your game account through the dashboard, where you will find a Deposit button that lets you move tokens from your C-Chain wallet over to your L1 account wallet. The dashboard is also the place where you can withdraw $BLS tokens from the Layer 1 wallet back to your C-Chain wallet.
With the Season Pass purchased, you can now properly start participating in weekly events, with each week divided into 2 Phases: Crafting & Refining points, and Game Mode points.
From Monday to Friday, you can earn crafting and refining points. In this blockchain game, you can use the crafting system to create NFTs. To craft on-chain assets, you need to have the right Blueprint for the NFT you’d like to have, as well as certain Materials and a Crafting Token, though the Crafting Token should not be required for the first 5 crafting attempts. While Blueprints and Materials can be earned through gameplay, Crafting Tokens are purchased using the $BLS token, with the price dynamically changing depending on token value and in-game crafting volume. By crafting NFTs, you earn points for the weekly leaderboard, and plus you get yourself an on-chain asset to trade with other players using $BLS tokens.
Refining is all about converting Shards into Materials. If you get 10 Shards of the same rarity, you can transform them into one unit of Material and earn leaderboard points for doing so.
While crafting and refining represent the main activities to earn points from during the week, the weekend is where your teamwork and tactical skills are further rewarded. For this season, from Friday to Sunday, you can earn Game Mode points by simply playing the game and winning matches during the given timeframe.
If you secure enough points for the week to rank in the top 10, you will win a share of the weekly $1k prize pool. You have 6 weekly attempts to play and earn rewards, so if you like hero shooters, then now may very well be the time to jump into BloodLoop and try your best at winning $BLS tokens in this game’s new competitive season.
