Developer Faraway is sponsoring the biggest reward pool yet for Web3 social metaverse Nifty Island from which any eligible player can win prizes by completing new quests on HV-MTL Island. 

How to Play Faraway’s Sponsored Quest

By heading to the quests page on the official website, you’ll find any new quest available from which you can win exclusive rewards by collecting quest points. To earn points which are equivalent to the in-game Blooms, you’ll have to compete against other players in eligible playground games on HV-MTL Island. The quest that is currently available runs from July 31st to August 3rd and its official page contains a link to the island you need to visit to get going, and you’ll want to try to grab as many points as you can for a better chance of gaining more valuable prizes.

Visiting the island containing the eligible games will require downloading the blockchain title on Windows or Mac as well as logging in to the Web3 platform either by connecting your wallet, or by using an email or social account through the non-custodial wallet solution Sequence. However, quests are only available for verified accounts, so if you’ve just created an account and don’t own any crypto or relevant NFTs, you’ll need to get enough in-game activity first in order to get verified. Getting verified requires playing for a couple of days. You can still visit this island and play on it even if unverified, but you won’t be able to earn points for the quest while doing so. The in-game Blooms currency however can still be earned and used to expand your own island by kindling your campfire, which lets you buy island upgrades and craft items using Blooms.

There’s a variety of different multiplayer mini-games to earn points in on this island across various biomes.  Some of them include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Infected, and more. You can also chat with friends and other players while doing so.

Prize Pool Details

The prize pool consists of Blooms, Kodamara NFTs, HV-MTL NFTs, Legendary Pistols, Airdrop Points, and Silver, Bronze, and Iron Palms. Specifically, there are 2 Kodamaras, 8 HV-MTLs, 8 Legendary Pistols, 1 Silver Palm, 1 Bronze Palm, and 1 Iron Palm up for grabs.

On the official quest page you can actually check how many quest points you need to have a chance at winning a certain prize through a raffle. A raffle for a Kodamara NFT requires 500 quest points, and the same number is also needed to participate in an HV-MTL NFT raffle. While there’s no limit to the number of winners for Blooms, the other rewards can only be won by 1 winner each, and Airdrop Points can be won by 30 players who have at least 500 quest points.

If you can’t participate in this sponsored quest but still want to enjoy a Web3 social gaming experience while potentially earning something along the way, then you may want to try and jump into the final wave of Nifty Island’s Play to Airdrop Campaign before its $ISLAND token goes live.

Anyone looking to get creative may also want to check out the Ultimate Time Trial UGC Challenge, where participants are challenged to create a new time trial course using assets from a specific build pack for a chance at winning rewards such as Palms and Pistols while potentially being featured in a future time trial quest. The build pack in question is Miguel Amargo's Voxadelic Platforms Pack, which you can mint for free on Base and Polygon using the links found in this official thread on X. You have until August 9th, 12 PM EST to participate and rank in the top 10 to earn rewards, with the top 3 submissions set to host leaderboard-based time trial quests that anyone will be able to participate in.

Last month, Faraway revealed that they're bringing HV-MTL NFTs to Shatterline to allow holders to use their assets in the Web2 arena shooter as well as participate in PvE and PvP competitions with a starting prize pool of $100k USD.
