Gran Saga: Unlimited - A Web3 Sequel to a Popular MMORPG

Following the success of their 2021 role-playing game, Gran Saga, which garnered 4.2 million downloads in the Asian gaming market, Npixel is developing Gran Saga: Unlimited as a traditional PC MMORPG. Players can create diverse characters and engage in various player-versus-environment and player-versus-player activities within a vast game world.

Gran Saga: Unlimited marks Npixel's foray into the Web3 gaming landscape. The game will utilize the developer's in-house platform, Metapixel, and will be published on the Aptos Network blockchain platform. Players will have the opportunity to earn in-game assets and mint gaming equipment as NFTs, which can be freely traded on NFT marketplaces built on the Aptos Network. While the initial launch will be for PC platforms, the game will later expand to mobile smartphones.

The game boasts an expansive world map with distinct regions to explore, meticulously designed dungeons and field bosses that encourage cooperative play, a clan system to foster community and competition, and chaotic field gameplay for intense player-versus-player action. Additionally, Gran Saga: Unlimited introduces a proof-of-play system, allowing players to experience and obtain in-game items while providing transparency through blockchain technology.

Features of Gran Saga

A standout feature of Gran Saga: Unlimited is the implementation of a limited supply of key in-game assets, with players having access to drop rate data. This innovative use of blockchain technology aims to establish a fully transparent and sustainable in-game economy, offering players a fair and rewarding gaming experience.

Daniel Park, head of the studio developing Gran Saga: Unlimited, expressed the team's vision for web3 gaming and their partnerships with industry leaders like Aptos and Blocto. Park emphasized their goal of creating an environment where players can effortlessly reap the benefits of web3 gaming simply by signing in and playing.
