In a surprising Discord announcement, METAPIXEL, the blockchain gaming platform by South Korean gaming giant NPIXEL, has decided to temporarily halt its Web3 project along with its flagship title, Gran Saga: Unlimited. This comes as a shock to the gaming community, given the hype surrounding the venture.

Gran Saga: Unlimited, hailed as a breakthrough in Web3 gaming, blends blockchain tech with immersive gameplay, providing gamers with not only an MMORPG experience but also the ability to be a part of an open gaming world. It is a Web3 version of NPIXEL's original Web2 title, Gran Saga, one of the top-grossing games on the Apple App Store in Korea. 

The company's statement reads: 

"It's with a heavy heart that we bring this news to our devoted METAPIXEL fans, who have always shown us immense support and love. Given the unexpected shifts in the circumstances surrounding METAPIXEL recently, we’ve made the tough call to pause the METAPIXEL project temporarily."

Despite the halt, METAPIXEL said they remain committed to Web3 and its transformative potential. They also expressed the need to focus on "certain vital aspects" and recalibrate their goals and strategies. 

Key announcements from the company include:

Tester Rewards: Production of the 'Supreme Raider,' a phase two tester gift, is underway and expected to be dispatched to recipients by mid-October. The distributed NFT rewards will be retained in the holders' wallets.

Social Media & Community Updates: On October 11th, the METAPIXEL website will disable new member sign-ups and login services. The company's major social media channels, such as Twitter and Discord, will also undergo reduced activity and eventually become inactive.

In a statement, the firm expressed gratitude towards its supportive community and promised to return stronger after the recalibration phase. As the gaming world watches closely, it is hoped that METAPIXEL will overcome these obstacles and continue to pioneer the ever-changing landscape of Web3 gaming.
