Game development studio Italian Games Factory has rebranded to Galaxy Games and as such is making changes to the token of their Web3 sci-fi title, Haunted Space.
What’s Changing With the HS Token?
The core token of the game, HS, will no longer exist, and will instead be replaced by an upcoming new token: $GAGA, the Galaxy Games token. This comes as part of the company’s rebranding, and the reason for deciding to move to a new token is because the team is now developing multiple games instead of just one. To reflect this expansion, the game’s token is essentially transforming into this new ecosystem token, meaning holders will benefit from all projects the studio makes instead of just Haunted Space, the space combat game that still remains the company’s top priority as revealed by their founder Luca in his 3-minute video message to the community.
What Happens to Genesis Pass Staking?
Instead of getting HS, the change to $GAGA means that your staking rewards will be auto-converted into the new token, with rewards planned to be distributed in the months that come after TGE. If you’re a Genesis Pass NFT holder who staked in V1 with a 3, 6 or 12-month lock period and are still staking one or multiple NFTs, you will now see that the staking duration has increased up to September 2024, allowing you to get staking rewards up to that point.
If you staked for 3 or 6 months and would like to continue staking, then you should head to the staking platform and start staking in the new pool, V2, where you will lock your assets for 1 year. Holders who are already on a 12-month staking period can continue to stake in V1, as the official post states that “you will get the same rewards for V2 stakers.”
