Chicken Saga, the web3 cockfighting game formerly known as Sabong Saga, has officially launched its first-ever seasonal event titled Season Liwayway, which began on November 24. Running for 14 days until December 8, the event comes with a fresh gameplay mechanic called Liwayway's Blessing, where you can earn shares of the game's native token, $COCK, through direct PvP battles. A total of 10,000,000 $COCK tokens is being distributed across the 2-week period.
10 Million $COCK Distributed Over 14 Days
Season Liwayway features a day-by-day reward schedule where a portion of the 10 million tokens is unlocked and given away daily. The first 7 days scale from 150,000 $COCK on Day 1 up to 500,000 $COCK on Day 7. The second week continues the pattern, eventually adding up to the full 10 million tokens across the season. Each day resets at 00:00 UTC, beginning a new ticket calculation and distribution cycle.
You must trigger Liwayway's Blessing during a match and then win to be rewarded. These victories grant Liwayway Blessing tickets, which are then used to determine how much of the daily $COCK pool you will receive. The more tickets you collect, the higher your share of that day's rewards.
How Liwayway's Blessing Works
Liwayway's Blessing is not always active. Instead, each match has a chance of triggering what the game calls a proc. When this happens, one or both chickens in the match are marked by Liwayway. If your chicken is tagged and wins, you receive a ticket tied to that specific day's reward pool. If you lose or your chicken isn't selected, you won't receive a ticket.
Only wins with an active blessing proc count toward rewards. There is no rollover. Tickets are locked to the day they're earned and are only used to calculate reward shares for that day. You can claim your share of the $COCK after the daily reset, with a 12-hour cooldown applied to all in-game and token rewards.
Ticket Drop Rates Are MMR and Affection Based
Not everyone has an equal chance of earning blessing tickets. Your MMR (Matchmaking Rating) and your chicken's Affection Level both increase the odds of triggering a blessing proc during battle. Chickens with high affection levels and higher MMRs are more likely to be blessed by Liwayway.
The base proc chance begins at the 1000–1099 MMR range and scales sharply as you move up the ranks. For example, if your MMR is between 1600–1699, you have 30 times the base chance, while crossing into the 2000+ range gives you 100 times the base chance. If your MMR is below 1000, or if your chicken's affection is too low, you won't be able to trigger the proc at all.
How to Join Season Liwayway
To join Season Liwayway, you'll need to own or rent a chicken NFT on Ronin, the blockchain that runs Chicken Saga. Legacy Chickens can be bought from the Ronin Marketplace for around $3.70 or rented through the Delegation hub for a daily fee paid in RON.
Once you have a chicken, connect your Ronin wallet to the Chicken Saga App to start playing. Matches are automated, but you can increase your odds by setting up properly, using Battle Items, and feeding Cookies for temporary stat boosts.
Raising your chicken's Affection Level is key. By feeding and caring for your chicken, you not only improve its battle strength but also boost your chance of earning blessing tickets. You can check affection stats in your chicken inventory. Affection levels range from Stressed to Loyal, and each level comes with different in-game effects.
What Is Chicken Saga?
Chicken Saga is a web3 auto battler set in a digital cockfighting arena. You collect, train, and battle digital chickens, each with its own traits, stats, and rarity. Chickens come in 3 main types: Genesis, Legacy, and Ordinary. Genesis chickens are immortal, while the other two can permanently die in battle under certain conditions. Each type also affects how you earn, breed, and progress in the game.
The main token in the game is $COCK, which is used across several systems. You can earn it through gameplay, breeding, crafting, and seasonal events like Season Liwayway. $COCK is tradable and works inside the game's ecosystem for a wide range of actions.
Utility of $COCK
You can use $COCK in many ways during gameplay. It's required for:
- Breeding new chickens
- Crafting Battle Items used in combat
- Buying cosmetics inside the game
- Opening gacha boxes for rewards
- Naming your chickens onchain
- Rub someone else's Genesis chicken to earn $COCK
As of now, $COCK remains a utility token tied closely to in-game mechanics and progression.
Risk-to-Earn System: Death and Fainting
Chicken Saga includes risk-based systems that make every match more meaningful. Genesis chickens cannot die but can enter a faint status when defeated under curse effects. When fainted, they lose access to ecosystem actions for a set period.
Legacy and Ordinary chickens are more vulnerable. If one of them enters battle under the Takipsilim effect and loses, it will be permanently burned and removed from the game. This system gives battles lasting weight and affects supply over time.
Legacy chickens do offer benefits like 6× reward multipliers, but they also carry risk. Choosing between Genesis safety and Legacy reward potential is a core part of the game's strategy.
Daily Activities and Chicken Progression
You can engage in daily tasks like collecting Feathers, crafting Battle Items, and feeding your chickens to improve stats and affection. Feathers are earned through daily rubs or passive generation and are needed for breeding, crafting, and item upgrades.
Each chicken has core combat stats like Attack, Defense, Speed, Cockrage, and Ferocity. You can increase or shift these values using Cookies or equipment. You'll also have access to Battle Items, which give combat advantages and activate during rounds.
Over time, your chicken can become stronger through regular care, fights, and upgrades. This makes your progression based not just on wins but on long-term effort.
Short Season, High Activity
Season Liwayway rewards consistency. With only 14 days to earn, you'll need to battle often, raise your MMR, and keep your Affection Level up to improve your chances. Since the reward pool resets daily, staying active throughout the season is the only way to keep collecting.
What you earn depends on the tickets you get each day, not just your total wins. That means showing up and playing daily matters more than saving all your effort for the final stretch.
Final Note on Season Structure
With a few days already gone, Season Liwayway continues to unlock daily rewards, growing larger as the event progresses. The final days will give away the highest share of the 10 million $COCK prize pool. If you've been collecting blessing tickets regularly, your share will depend entirely on your contribution to each day's total.
The season wraps up on December 8, with the full $COCK pool distributed through active gameplay alone.
