ZEBEDEE, a finance company focused on providing a payments API for easy integration of the Lightning Network in apps and games, has announced a partnership with Satlantis, a custom Minecraft server where players can now compete for Bitcoin rewards.
By adding in the king of crypto to the most popular video game of all time, players are now able to hop in the custom server and compete for more than 150k+ satoshis every day, with the server sharing all of its ad revenue to its players.
Through this gamified solution, gamers have a chance of earning Bitcoin through gameplay, which they can then choose to stack up, withdraw to the ZBD app, or even use in the server itself in various ways that include claiming in-game land, buying resources or equipment, and trading with other players on the server.
The way players get to earn rewards is inspired by Bitcoin mining, using concepts such as block rewards, hash rate, mining pools, and ASICs to represent various different elements in the game. In this server, block rewards are prizes that the game distributes every 10 minutes, akin to how the Bitcoin blockchain works. While ASICs are crypto mining rigs in real life, in this server, they are items that players have to collect in quests in order to have a better chance of winning rewards. Hash rate resembles the stat that ASICs increase, and just like in real life, in this game it’s also an important factor in getting more prizes. Mining pools are clans that players can join in an effort to increase total hash rate for a better chance of gaining more satoshis.
By using similar concepts, players not only get to earn, but also learn more about how the oldest cryptocurrency actually works. Just like in real life, the higher the hash rate, the better chances you have of getting a reward. Next to ASICs, which for this server are items attained in special quests, players also need Emeralds to power their ASICs.
The reward pool is filled up with the ad revenue that Satlantis gets, making it possible for the team behind the server to add more than 150k sats every day at 10 PM EST, with 1% of the total amount given out as block rewards every 10 minutes. Next to this, the prize pool also gets increased whenever a satoshi is spent in the game thanks to a dynamic reward system.
