The new CEO of Yuga Labs, Daniel Alegre, recently stated that the company has “audacious” plans for the Otherside metaverse as prices of BAYC NFTs continue to drop.
Alegre said this over at Fortune’s Brainstorm Tech conference on July 13, during which he highlighted that the startup is doing their best to create their own metaverse for holders of their Bored Apes to enjoy experiencing, while referring to the plans they’re putting lots of effort into as “audacious” without really revealing any specifics on what the future holds for this virtual world. Because of how ambitious these plans are, Alegre went on to say that it will “take time” to actually turn them into reality, with no estimate given on how much time it could possibly take to achieve everything they’ve set out to do in order to create a proper and successful digital space that the Bored Ape community will be happy with.
Whenever their vision does end up being fully realized, Otherside will then be a metaverse that will “bring communities together” as well as “bring new and innovative Web3-based experiences” for users to enjoy, initially “starting with gaming.” Alegre has also said that by being an NFT holder, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in “drawing what we’re building, which is this Otherside metaverse.” Involving owners of their NFTs sounds like a step in the right direction.
