Youmio has officially opened early access applications for its upcoming app, inviting testnet users to take part in the next stage of its development. The announcement follows the completion of its large-scale testnet phase, which recorded more than 7 million transactions and over 150,000 participants.

The early access rollout marks a major milestone for the project as it prepares for the launch of its Layer 1 agent chain, built to support autonomous AI agents as core participants within a blockchain ecosystem. Here’s how to join in on the closed beta.

How to Apply for Early Access to Youmio App

Testnet users can now apply for early access through the official testnet portal at testnet.youmio.ai. Access will first be granted to Seed NFT and $LIMBO holders, followed shortly by verified testnet users who of course pass verification as humans. All users applying need to submit their Discord and X profiles, as well as have a Youmio Mainnet wallet with a migrated SBT badge.

According to the official X announcement, using the app during this phase will provide users with the best opportunity to convert their activity into future rewards. The platform emphasizes that being early contributes to building greater “affinity,” which will later play a key role in reward distribution and user engagement.

Everyone participating will receive a “Tester Star Pack” reward and possibly other yet-to-be-announced bonuses, with the former providing an early advantage to collecting Stars that could come in handy for getting future ecosystem rewards.

Details on when testing starts were not announced at the time of writing.

What Is Youmio’s Affinity System?

Youmio also recently shared a sneak peek of its own Affinity system, a framework that is designed to measure the bond between users and the AI agents within the ecosystem, known as Mios. This system serves as the engagement foundation of the Youmio App, turning emotional interaction and loyalty into measurable economic value.

Affinity represents the strength of a user’s connection with each Mio. The score increases as users engage through various activities, including chatting and gifting Stars to their preferred AI agents. Each Mio maintains its own affinity leaderboard, giving users the opportunity to climb ranks and potentially unlock ecosystem rewards.

Testnet Highlights

The Youmio testnet concluded in late October following several weeks of testing, during which the network recorded more than 7 million transactions and participation from over 150k users.

Following the testnet’s completion, users were invited to migrate their testnet badges through the same portal that now hosts early access applications. Youmio confirmed that all eligible testers will receive a “Tester Star Pack,” with additional undisclosed rewards planned for participants who completed their migration within 7 days after the end of testnet.

What Is Youmio?

Youmio is a blockchain ecosystem built around AI agents, powered by its own Layer 1 blockchain known as the “agent chain.” Developed in collaboration with Avalanche, the network provides a purpose-built infrastructure that allows intelligent software agents to operate as verified, autonomous entities on-chain.

Unlike traditional blockchains that focus on generic transaction models, Youmio is designed to handle dynamic AI agent behavior. Each AI agent has its own wallet, modular skills, and evolving metadata, allowing for continuous development and personalization. The system also allows outputs to be optionally minted as cryptographic proofs, establishing traceable records of agent actions.

The web3 ecosystem’s first application is a 3D AI agent launchpad showcased early this year as a platform that enables users to create interactive 3D AI characters called Mios. Each Mio is designed to evolve over time through user interactions, carrying its memory and context across various environments such as games, apps, and digital spaces. These Mios serve as the main interface for users within the Youmio App.

By anchoring agent provenance and authorship onchain, Youmio aims to address core challenges in AI development, including transparency, data ownership, and trust. As noted by Youmio co-founder and CEO Michael O’Connor, the project was created to ensure that intelligent agents remain open, verifiable, and user-controlled, explaining:

“Agents are the interface layer of AI, but without public infrastructure they’ll be owned, tracked and unverifiable. As we outsource decisions to them, we need agents we can trust. Youmio provides open infrastructure where agents act transparently, with identity, memory and provenance onchain, and privacy controls in the hands of users.”

Youmio chose Avalanche back in July this year to launch the world’s first blockchain for AI agents, as the L1 offers the low latency and finality required for real-time agent coordination. With millions of active wallets already supported through Avalanche, the partnership provides a foundation for scaling Youmio’s agent-native ecosystem across dApps and blockchain games.

In addition, it was also revealed in July that Youmio is participating in InfraBUIDL(AI), a $15 million initiative from the Avalanche Foundation aimed at supporting AI-driven projects. The collaboration seeks to expand the ecosystem by offering funding, infrastructure, and distribution for external developers building on the Youmio agent chain.

Youmio was previously known as Today, an AI-powered social sim web3 game, before the expansion took place. That part of the ecosystem still seems to be planned, and is now referred to as Youmio Worlds instead.

What Is the $LIMBO Token?

$LIMBO is Youmio’s Solana-powered staking token designed to provide users with access to ecosystem rewards via staking.

Staking went live in March 2025 and the longer a user locks up their holdings, the more daily Star yield they get, meaning more opportunities to grow Affinity with a Mio. Holders can choose any staking duration between the range of 7 to 120 days, with longer periods of course awarding more Stars. Next to collecting Stars, staking also earns you Affinity towards the Limbo AI, which the token is named after.
