Yield Guild Games (YGG) has officially kicked off Guild Advancement Program (GAP) Season 9, giving players a new rewards map and various new games to play and earn in.
YGG GAP Season 9 features various quests to complete across 12 web3 games, new challenges for Onchain Guilds, and the introduction of a new Rewards Map.
From the 12-game lineup, 4 of them are new: Vibes (Pudgy Penguins TCG), Ember Sword, MetaCene, and Party Icons. Aside from Vibes joining the program for the first time this season, the latter 3 new additions come thanks to the blockchain guild protocol’s partnership with web3 native game store, HyperPlay. Vibes is a digital and physical trading card game based on the Pudgy Penguins IP. Ember Sword is a free to play top-down fantasy MMORPG powered by Mantle and currently playable in early access since December 2024, while MetaCene is a third-person sci-fi MMORPG made in Unreal Engine 5. BITKRAFT Ventures-backed Party Icons is a colorful battle royale social game featuring action-packed third-person gameplay and various game modes.
Some of the well-received games from the Immutable ecosystem that were available in Season 8 are back for Seaosn 9. These include RavenQuest, Immortal Rising 2, and The Mystery Society. RavenQuest is an old-school pixelated sandbox MMORPG that globally launched this month. Immortal Rising 2 is a mobile idle RPG published by Planetarium, who you might know as the team behind Nine Chronicles. The Mystery Society is a web3 social deduction game for which development was actually suspended in February this year, with the team trying to keep the game live as long as they can while looking for opportunities to potentially relaunch it, either in web2 or web3 gaming.
The rest of this season’s lineup include DeFi Kingdoms, Anichess, Nifty Island, Aurory: Seekers of Tokane, and Fishing Frenzy. DeFi Kingdoms is a 16-bit RPG that recently introduced PvP tournaments with $75k+ worth of prizes, while Anichess is a free to play blockchain-powered chess game that adds in magical elements for unique gameplay. It’s founded by Animoca Brands and is officially partnered with Chess.com. Nifty Island is a play to earn and create to earn 3D metaverse with AI agents. Aurory: Seekers of Tokane is a free to play JRPG available on the Epic Games Store, while Fishing Frenzy is a cozy Ronin-powered mobile game inspired by Stardew Valley, Dave the Diver, and RuneScape.
The new Rewards Map is designed to reward “those who crossed the finish line in Season 8” by giving various token rewards to claim during this season by completing quests and collecting YGG points. This season also aims to further highlight the Onchain Guilds platform and encourage new guilds of all sizes to join in and participate by completing various quests across most of the games included in this season’s lineup. Other improvements are also included for this season, and you can read more about them all in the official Medium announcement.
