XOCIETY is set to launch its Pre-Season Playtest next week, giving players another chance to explore the game while putting its newest systems to the test. Starting on September 22 and running through September 29, this round of testing builds on August's Phase Zero event but adds continuous access and a wider range of updates.
For one full week, players will have nonstop access to the game's servers, along with fresh gameplay changes, new reward options, and real-time token conversion. Like before, the test is open to everyone and available for download on the Epic Games Store.
24/7 Gameplay Across Global Servers
The Pre-Season Playtest will begin on September 22 at 00:00 UTC and wrap up on September 29 at 23:59 UTC.
Unlike the Phase Zero test held last month, which limited players to specific regional time slots, this playtest offers full-time access to 4 servers located in North America (PT), Asia (SGT), East Asia (KST), and Europe (CEST). All of these will remain online around the clock.
August's Phase Zero test introduced cross-platform play between PC and SuiPlay0x1, with players sharing a 20 million $XO token prize pool. It also helped validate the game's blockchain reward system in a live setting.
$XO Rewards Return, Now With More Options
For this next round, the rewards are still substantial. Competitive Mode alone features a prize pool of 7.2 million $XO. Along with that, the Standard Battle Pass offers up to 1 million $XO for players who level up through regular play.
This version of the game removes both the daily check-in system and the premium Battle Pass. That means all $XO earnings will come from the standard, free Battle Pass, which is available inside the game.
Also returning are the XOCIETY Missions, a limited-time event offering 100,000 $XO to players who complete tasks and rise on the leaderboard. The campaign is now live and runs for 2 weeks, leading up to the Pre-Season Playtest.
Live Token Conversion Now Supported
One of the biggest changes in this playtest is the introduction of real-time token conversion. Players who earn XO Packs in-game will be able to convert them directly into $XO tokens through a new dedicated conversion page.
This system will go live on September 26 and is powered by the Sui network. Any XO Packs collected during the playtest will become eligible for conversion once the system activates.
This update replaces the delayed redemption process used in Phase Zero. Now, instead of waiting until the event ends, players can access their onchain rewards while the test is still live.
Combat, Gear, and Skills Overhauled
Based on player feedback, the team has also made wide-reaching updates across the board. Combat has been adjusted, gear systems have been improved, and skills now offer more variety and tactical use.
Weapons have been rebalanced to give each type its own clear role in battles. Armor categories have also been streamlined, with each type now tied to specific strengths.
Skills have been rebuilt from the ground up. Every skill now comes with a distinct effect, while consumables like grenades and healing items have been redesigned to give more options during fights.
Monster animations have also been upgraded, making battles feel sharper and more responsive. From hit reactions to death animations, the visuals now clearly reflect the impact of each action.
Simplified Loot and Cleaner Inventory
Loot collection has been made more focused. The pickup radius for in-game currency has been reduced, so players need to move closer to collect earnings. Enemy drops are now limited to currencies and consumables only. Gear, meanwhile, is found in Supply Crates.
These changes should help keep the inventory system leaner and easier to manage during matches. With fewer item types in circulation, it's now easier to stay organized and focused on action.
Map systems have also been improved. Access to Sky Island is now more straightforward, and the Warp Zone system has been rebalanced. Extraction portals are no longer capped by player numbers and now feature a countdown that shows how long each one will stay open.
How to Join the Playtest
Joining the Pre-Season Playtest is simple. Players can download the client by searching for "XOCIETY Playtest" on the Epic Games Store. The test is available on both PC and SuiPlay0x1, and the game supports pre-installation before the official start time.
Once downloaded, players will be able to access the game as soon as servers go live on September 22.
Recap of Phase Zero
This new test phase arrives just weeks after XOCIETY wrapped up its Phase Zero Cross-Play test earlier this month. That earlier round was the first full showcase of the game's token system and cross-platform gameplay.
During Phase Zero, 20 million $XO tokens were distributed across several categories, including 12.5 million for Competitive Mode, 4.4 million from daily logins, and over 3 million through Battle Pass progression.
Players also had the chance to earn additional rewards through in-game challenges and social events. These included leaderboards for kill counts, XO Pack extractions, and video clip contests with prizes for the best submissions.
Competitive Mode was the main way to earn, requiring an entry ticket and offering $XO payouts based on how players performed during matches. Battle Pass rewards and daily check-ins offered alternative ways to build up token earnings.
All tokens from Phase Zero are set to unlock beginning September 26, the same day that real-time conversions start for the Pre-Season Playtest.
What's Different This Time
With Phase Zero complete, the new Pre-Season test shifts focus toward round-the-clock availability and a more open reward system. There are no time-gated sessions. Players can join whenever they want, as long as the playtest is live.
The premium Battle Pass and daily bonuses have been removed, putting the spotlight on gameplay and skill. Players can earn by completing missions, ranking in Competitive Mode, or progressing through the free Battle Pass.
The core $XO reward loop continues to center on collecting XO Packs. The difference now is that the onchain system will be active during the event, rather than only after it ends.
Updates to Core Gameplay
According to the team, gameplay has been polished. Combat now features sharper effects and better feedback. Weapons feel more distinct, skills have been reworked, and items offer more ways to control the battlefield.
Loot and inventory systems have been reduced in complexity to create smoother pacing during matches. Extraction portals now work more reliably, and players can clearly see when and where to escape.
Free to Join, No Barriers to Play
XOCIETY's Pre-Season Playtest remains completely free to access. There are no paywalls, no mandatory purchases, and no hidden fees. Players can join, explore the game's systems, and earn rewards at no cost.
The game's design keeps premium features optional, and all key progression systems (including $XO rewards) are tied directly to gameplay.
The Role of $XO in the Game
The $XO token remains the core of XOCIETY's in-game economy. Running on the Sui network, it has a total supply of 5 billion tokens and functions as both a reward system and spending currency.
During this playtest, all $XO will be earned through actual play. Once the token conversion system goes live next week, players can turn their XO Packs into $XO directly.
With that, XOCIETY takes another step forward in testing its live blockchain economy and preparing for full release. Server access begins September 22, and all players are welcome.
