Wreck League Kicks Off First In-Game Tournament: Mez’i’s Mayhem

Developer nWay has officially launched the first in-game tournament of Wreck League, called Mez’i’s Mayhem, in which mech owners get to compete in real-time PvP combat for various rewards.

What is Mez’i’s Mayhem?

Mez’i’s Mayhem marks the first in-game tournament for Wreck League, a mech-based blockchain fighting game akin to popular games such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. The tournament kickced off on September 14th at 11 AM PT and will end on September 28th at 8:30 PM PT. During this 2-week period, players have an opportunity to play and compete during scheduled timeframes every day. Each day, players can take on competitive matches against each other in 3 different time slots, each of which last 90 minutes. The first window is from 3 AM to 4:30 AM PT, while the second is from 11 AM to 12:30 AM PT, and the third window is from 7 PM to 8:30 PM PT. These time windows are the same every day during the tournament period, and are the time periods in which you must play matches in order to accordingly participate in the tournament. The timeframes may be adjusted over time and new ones might be added in an effort to give every player a better chance of participating. Playing the game outside the determined timeframes is still possible in practice mode, giving you a chance to sharpen your skills before taking your chance in competitive gameplay.

In this tournament, players earn points by winning matches in an effort to climb the leaderboard for on-chain rewards, with the matchmaking system pitting players of similar score. Players lose points when losing matches, but going below zero is not possible.

How to participate in Mez’i’s Mayhem

In order to participate in the game’s first tournament, you need to either build at least 1 mech using various parts, or buy one already made from the official collection on OpenSea. You can get parts by purchasing boxes, as well as by buying them separately.

Mez’i’s Mayhem Leaderboard Rewards

There are leaderboard rewards up for grabs for the top 17k players, with prizes varying based on where you rank. If you end up as one of the top 3 players of the tournament, you’ll earn 1 Iconic Holospec, which the developers describe as an exclusive NFT that will let you own an Arena NFT in the future. With an Arena NFT, you’ll be able to host your own custom tournaments through which you can earn by taking a % of the prize pool created from entry fees.
