The Super Early Access (SEA) version of Wilder World made its debut at Gamescom in partnership with Samsung this week, with the web3 game now live globally as a free to play title on the Epic Games Store alongside pre-qualifiers for a $100k tournament.

What Is Wilder World?

Wilder World is a free to play blockchain-powered gaming metaverse set in the cyberpunk city of Wiami in which players will get to explore a beautiful open world built in Unreal Engine 5 while enjoying next-gen racing physics and competing in action-packed third-person and FPS game modes. Players will be able to purchase items using fiat or crypto and own in-game assets as usable NFTs while taking part in a player-driven economy powered by the $WILD token.

After revealing Super Early Access launch plans in June 2025 and undergoing a slight delay from the initially planned release timeframe of late July 2025, this early slice of Wilder World is now finally live for everyone to try out for free while potentially earning a variety of rewards along the way through skill-based gameplay.

What’s New in Super Early Access?

Super Early Access marks the first public release of Wilder World, one that gives the web3 gaming community the chance to try out some of the in-development features that are planned to be included in the full game.

For this initial launch, the focus is particularly on high-octane PvP combat, meaning players can now jump in and compete in a free-for-all multiplayer game mode called Rebellion while playing to earn various assets and gear. It can be played in both third-person and first-person view, and it currently consists of 2 different maps and over 10 varied weapons to blast your opponents with, such as a submachine gun, a sniper rifle, an RPG, and so on. The mode is accompanied by early matchmaking systems, ZERO account integration, leaderboard tracking, destructible environments, immersive audio-visual design, overhauled UI, and on-chain progression, meaning that player stats such as kills and victories are all permanently recorded in real-time and verifiable on Z Chain, a Layer 1 chain made for gaming, social networking, and AI.

Before you go online, you can also play the single-player practice mode on the Hydrolink map. This solo training ground has you fight against Forum Agent AI with advanced enemy logic across multiple difficulty levels. As you get to grips with the game’s combat mechanics you will also get to experience the map’s extra immersive touches that include breakable glass and interactable props while dealing with dynamic encounters brought about by an updated spawner system.

The Beginning Multiplayer Map

When you’re ready, it’s to jump into the 2 different multiplayer maps available on launch: The Beginning and DROID. The Beginning is a core PvP map representing the construction of Wiami city. and is one that comes with varied strategic options thanks to it being loaded with destructible props such as cement bags and containers. DROID on the other hand is a rooftop manufacturing facility that is focused on verticality by utilizing a vertical lift system for fluid competitive shooter gameplay across multiple levels of industrial environments.

As you play, you can check your global and region-specific rankings through the game’s fully featured leaderboard system, which lets you filter by performance stats such as kills, K/D ratio, headshots and so on.

In celebration of this launch, the team is giving away an exclusive Samsung / Wilder World Gamescom 25’ playable POAP from Friday to Sunday. They’ll be rewarding 5000 POAPs per day, and they can only be claimed during specific 2-hour windows, with the first drop taking place on Friday, August 22, from 4 PM to 6 PM CEST (7 AM-9 AM PT).

To get started with this SEA release, download Wilder World for free on the Epic Games Store and link or create a ZERO account with your Epic ID through the game client. You should hop in as soon as possible to practice during the Pre-Qualifiers and potentially earn rewards such as NFTs and $WILD tokens along the way, provided your PC is capable enough to run it. Here are the official minimum system requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10/11
  • CPU: 6-core Intel processor
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (or equivalent)
  • RAM: 32 GB

Play to Earn in Legend of the WILD $100k Tournament

Legend of the WILD is the first global tournament for Wilder World that kicked off with the Pre-Qualifiers on August 21 and will conclude with the live Finals on September 24.

The Pre-Qualifiers run from August 21 to August 24 across 4 regions: US, EU, Pacific Asia, and Latin America. During this phase, there are no tournament scores to worry about, as this is meant to be a warm-up stage for the upcoming Qualifiers. However, there are still prizes up for grabs every day even during this preparation phase, and they include the following:

  • Day 1 (Aug 21st): NFT Pack Reward for most kills
  • Day 2 (Aug 22nd): Lamborghini Temerario NFT for most headshots
  • Day 3 (Aug 23rd): 5,000 WILD for most XP/Top of Global Leaderboard
  • Day 4 (Aug 24th): NFT Pack Reward for highest KDR with a minimum of 300 XP

To participate and compete for these rewards in the Pre-Qualifiers, you need to play the multiplayer free-for-all mode of Wilder World SEA across 24-hour time slots that start at 6 AM PT and end at 5:59 AM PT.

Another important detail for players across all 4 regions is that in order to unlock the next stage, the Qualifiers, regions must achieve at least 100 active players during the Pre-Qualifiers. All regions that meet this criteria will unlock the next phase. Players from regions that potentially fail to qualify can still choose to compete in a different region.

Once the Pre-Qualifiers are wrapped up, August 25 will mark the start of the actual Qualifiers. This stage will run until September 9 and have players compete in a new build featuring a tournament system that uses a new Tournament Score system to determines a player’s score based on the player’s best 10 matches played during the Qualifier period. Results will be tracked across region-specific leaderboards, with points awarded in the following manner:

  • Kills: +3 points
  • Headshots: +4 points
  • Assists: +2 points
  • 3-Kill Streaks: +3 points
  • Stayed until match end: +2 points
  • Deaths: –1 point

Rather than simply playing as many matches as you can, your goal should be to get your best 10 matches within this period in order to get a high enough score to rank in the top 50 players of your region. Servers for this phase will be open 9 hours a day in each eligible region, with the top 50 from each region advancing to the Playoffs.

The Playoffs uses a single-match elimination bracket to find the 10 best players to advance to the Finals, where 6 winners will be awarded with a Golden Ticket in order to be flown to an “all-expenses-paid live Finals event at an epic location,” where players will compete live on stage for big $WILD rewards, details on which have not been revealed at the time of writing.

When it comes to overall reward distribution, players can earn exclusive Wilder World NFTs and periodic $WILD token drops during tournament stages, with the top 10 players winning the following:

  • 1st: Golden Ticket + $25,000 in WILD
  • 2nd: Golden Ticket + $10,000 in WILD
  • 3rd: Golden Ticket + $5,000 in WILD
  • 4th: Golden Ticket + $2,500 in WILD
  • 5th: Golden Ticket + $1,500 in WILD
  • 6th: Golden Ticket + $1,000 in WILD
  • 7th – 10th: $750 in WILD each

The prizes don’t stop there, as players ranked 11th - 20th will receive $75 in WILD, while anyone ranked 21st - 50th will earn $50 in WILD. There are also regional rewards for players ranked from 51st to 250th. Players ranked from 51st to 150th win $25 in WILD, while participants ranked from 151st to 250th get $10 in WILD.
