Free to play strategy game Wild Forest has been updated with a new feature for all players to enjoy: the Campfire, while launching a new contest where you can earn NFT rewards for designing a cool map!
The Campfire is a passive Gold-earning feature that lets everyone periodically collect Gold over time without needing to own a Lord NFT, though Lord holders do get some benefits. Gold is a non-tradable in-game resource used for leveling up units. Players need to manually claim the generated Gold from a storage that has a certain max capacity, but you don’t need to wait for it to fill up to get the Gold inside it. If storage is full, the system will stop generating Gold for you, so you’ll want to check back in from time to time to make room for more Gold to be generated.
Non-Lord NFT holders earn 8 Gold per hour and have a storage capacity of 600 Gold.
If you own a Lord NFT and stake it to unlock your Castle, you will then be able to increase the speed at which Gold is produced while also getting a bigger storage capacity. You won’t get any bonus Campfires for owning one or multiple Castles, but the more Castles you own, the more Gold you earn per hour and the higher your storage limit is. If you stop staking or sell your NFT, you lose access to your Castle, which also means losing access to this Gold generation and capacity boost. Any accumulated Gold however should be safe to collect though.
Here’s how much Gold each type of Castle produces per hour:
Overall, a nice and simple feature to earn some more Gold as you compete in Wild Forest’s Season 4, which kicked off earlier this month with expanded leaderboard rewards and Recruitment Centers, which is another new Castles feature that adds further utility to staking Lord NFTs.
Quickly after introducing the Campfire feature, the studio announced the start of a new contest in which the goal is to design a playable 1v1 map for Ronin-powered Wild Forest. The map should consist of territories, emplacements, and a template “we know and love.” You can make a drawing of your map idea, and even use AI-generated designs.
To submit your entry, you’ll have to post it on Twitter/X by tagging the web3 game’s official profile while using the #LORDish hashtag. Then, share your post by leaving a reply in this contest announcement, and confirm your entry submission by filling in the form linked in that same tweet. The form asks for your Twitter entry link, and your Ronin wallet address.
You have until October 20th, 4 PM UTC to participate. Each participant can submit two entries. The team and community will vote for the best maps, and if your entry ends up ranking among the top 5, you stand a chance of getting your entry reposted by the blockchain game’s official X profile, while winning the following NFT prizes:
Standard and Premium Packs contain random Unit NFTs and chances of dropping a Lord NFT. They’re available on the Mavis Market alongside many other types of Packs, and you can learn more about all of them here.
