Not only will the web3 edition come with on-chain features to enable play to earn gameplay, but it will also actually launch globally, making it more accessible worldwide to all gamers than the original web2 game.
Not many details on the blockchain version are known at the time of writing. It will be powered by the Wemix mainnet and feature a tokenomics model that is said to be comprised of “Unlimited Minting, Guaranteed Value, and a Simple & Fast P2E structure,” in an effort to set a new standard for web3 MMORPGs. It will be interesting to see what their vision exactly is for a next-gen blockchain MMO and how these features impact the core gameplay loop designed in their traditional title.

As we wait for more details on game features to be revealed, we can probably get a good idea of what to expect in terms of core gameplay by having a look at the original game that is ROM: Remember of Majesty. Available on PC, Android, and iOS as a cross-platform title through the Google Play Store and App Store, ROM: Remember of Majesty is a classic hardcore MMORPG in which players grind their way through a fantasy world in real-time isometric gameplay.
Choose your class, main and secondary weapon as you customize your character and dive into the continent of Calderas while journeying through diverse lands across five continents and leveling up to unlock various costumes, items, guardians, and more. Summon guardians to fight alongside you and join a guild to fully experience the game’s war-ridden world by taking on endless campaigns such as Territory Wars, Siege Wars, and more action-packed gaming experiences.
ROM: Golden Age is planned to launch in Q3 2025 on the Wemix mainnet. It will be onboarded to Wemix Play, Wemade's web3 gaming platform that is home to the publisher's very own well-known blockchain-powered MMOs such as Mir4 and Night Crows, the former of which is even available on Steam.
The publisher wants to continue expanding their game lineup across different genres by forming partnerships with developers both in domestic and international markets who have shown their capability to create successful web2 games, which is why they have teamed up with RedLab Games to bring another MMORPG over to their growing web3 gaming ecosystem.
