If you have ever played social deduction games like Mafia or Werewolf, you will surely get the thrill and suspense of spotting the bad guy(s) in the group. Such games have been adapted to video games before (think Among Us). And now, Impostors is finally bringing this wildly popular genre into Web3 - with a closed beta test starting this week!
On August 12th, 3 PM (PST), Genesis Alien holders who verified themselves on the official Discord can try out a beta version of the game. The closed beta will only last 3 hours until August 12th, 6 PM (PST). In this build, players can take part in Lies & Knives by playing with one of the two free characters, Beary or Froggy. Each lobby can hold around 4 to 15 players, with a recommended number of 10 players in a group.
Take note that the beta game will only work on Windows PC. Those who want to play Impostors need to ensure they are using 64-bit Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11. What's more, the PC must be running at least on a 2.4 GHz Core i3 processor or better. The game will also require 4GB of HDD free space, 4GB of RAM, and Intel HD 4000 GPU supporting DirectX 11 or higher to run smoothly.
On August 11th, the team will drop a link to the SuperFarm Impostors Game Launcher on Discord. Eligible testers can download and install the launcher before creating a new account on SuperFarm. Once done, players can download the Impostors game and access the community beta test using a set of Beta Keys.
Developed by the team behind SuperFarm, Impostors is a social gaming metaverse that allows you to roam around as cute, dangerous alien creatures. The very first game mode is a social deduction game, in which one or more players will act as "impostors" that go around killing the "innocents." The innocents will only win if they manage to vote out all impostors or complete all of their tasks before being killed.
